I'm surprised I didn't notice until now that the position of controllers A-D aren't saved in the preset. It says this in the manual, so obviously you know about it, but I find this to be a pretty weird decision and am wondering whether there's any interest in changing that, or at least create the option to do it.

There's a lot of discussion about it, and we're working on a version that does both save them *and* still work as performance controls:cvale wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 12:21 pm I'm surprised I didn't notice until now that the position of controllers A-D aren't saved in the preset. Will XY and Sequencer be added to Z3?
and I wish there is "Show All Direct Modulation" in Mod Matrix so we can see all the things going on at a glance.
Looking forward to the next version! love the synth!
Edit: Can we also have Note-off MSEGs?

Are some of you thinking Z2 is irrelevant? Because I think that is hilarious!
It is awesome. Not "hopelessly outdated"...what???

Nah..Z2 is still awesome. On certain areas it is a tad outdated though, but that's (imho) more on the UX side. Not the sound or sculpting features.Grizzellda wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 6:32 am Are some of you thinking Z2 is irrelevant? Because I think that is hilarious!![]()

Sure, well time moves on. Could we be "spoiled brats"...even daring to suggest a synth like Z2 is "not capable"??? "even, God forbid..."outdated"?
Z3 is progressive, love the vector graphics approach...have not hardly even looked at it much. Zebralette 3 over here, just to feel out the GUI and the oscillator / FX. Enuff for now, says Grizzellda!!!

For me modal module HPF should be more steep (24 db equivalent at least)
But..maybe it's best to wait 2 years and make changes that will allow you to switch the preset interpretation mode (like in zebra2 mode 2.3 and 2.5) Because more features can be subject for a change.
or some toogle switch for filter mode or rear panel where other module parameters are set?

You can also use a filter or eq module before the modal module to create a steeper highpass.eclipse_soundlab wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 5:37 pm For me modal module HPF should be more steep (24 db equivalent at least)

you can remove lows on OSC level, but thats a no no for signal splits.

Maybe Z3's oscillators can do stuff beyond "filtering"? I dunno, just asking!

Did you think this comment through? You can't save the positions of the 4 macro knobs. At all, not even by using channel strip presets in Logic Pro. I understand why the decision has been made to do this, but it would just be better if you could choose to select how the macros function. Not being able to save a tweaked preset is really annoying.TechHaus wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 7:08 pm OMG it is 4 knobs just tweak them and resave the presets. It will take you way less than 20 hours. You could have been done already if you started this yesterday.
You should have at least once in these twenty hours opened your work and checked if they were saving correctly. That's the wild part to me.
