To me, a vibe-coded plugin with the price of a human-coded plugin makes no sense. It's not fair. Paying almost 100 or more to get a plugin without human DSP coding experience, final polishing, CPU optimization, and a good UX design from a professional team is just not the same. However, here we are talking about an affordable plugin made by someone who is an expert in ambient music and has a proven career in music production. To me, the risk is minimal.

Glitchwork + Tape Fiasco 2 is a great combo.

Yes, exactly. That's essentially what I was trying to get across but you said it more succinctly and eloquently than I could.Sandra F wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 6:27 am To me, a vibe-coded plugin with the price of a human-coded plugin makes no sense. Yes, it doesn't work to demo this plugin without buying it.S1gnsOfL1fe wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 11:27 pmNo but if it's not working for any reason, feel free to reach out.![]()

I can't agree. I don't think fairness has anything to do with it.Sandra F wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 6:27 am To me, a vibe-coded plugin with the price of a human-coded plugin makes no sense. First, a seller sells a product at the price people are willing to pay. If the product has value, it doesn't really matter how it was made. This is a basic rule of the free market.
Second, It's not like there's no work involved. It's a different kind of work. Yes, AI writes the code, but if you don't guide it with clear and detailed instructions about what to build and how it should work, things go off track very quickly.
Third, almost nobody writes DSP completely from scratch anymore. There are libraries, frameworks, and high-level programming languages. Yes, it still takes solid programming knowledge, but it's not as if every VST synth is written in Assembly from the ground up.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the way AI is being thrown at everything these days (I'm an IT engineer with several decades of experience). Still, I've built a few relatively simple applications with 100% AI-generated source code using a paid AI platform. Believe me, it wasn't effortless. It just required a different kind of effort.
If you don't like it - or rather don't want it - then don't buy it. That's perfectly fine. But saying it's "not fair" is quite a stretch.

Interesting.
How many voices is there?
Is there any "normal" screenshot of the GUI somewhere? I find hard to tell the GUI and features from the video or the angled view of the product page on Gumroad...

The cool thing about this process is I'm learning a ton about the development and the debugging process along the way. Developer speak isn't just a language everyone knows, they pick it up from experience and actually getting their hands dirty building something that works. "A different kind of effort" is actually the best way to describe it and I feel like more people are starting to realize this now more than ever. It's a refreshing to see such positive takes on this forum!

There are 16 "voices" in the sequencer section (which can be triggered individually), but one suggestion I got from the comments was to add the ability to bypass the sequencer to be able to send MIDI in across the entire octave range. That's something I'm going to look at for v1.1.sinkmusic wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 3:20 pm Interesting.

The whole discussion about value of a plugin is a very important one.
When people that I know from their work (former plugin, music, forum discussions, etc.) and I already trust these people I rather give them the benefit of doubt.
I know Chris from many Youtube videos, tutorials, etc. and have a solid, good opinion of him.
So when he comes along and makes realistic claims about his new plugin it sounds reasonable to me.
When somebody I never heard of (Post count: 1) invents new language about his game changer plugin with flux capacitors and anti gravity LFOs then I am slower with my enthusiasm if it isn't provable, testable, if it doesn't hold up for me in my environment.
And a reasonable price is a nice thing too.
If this price is low enough so that you don't want a demo before you buy is also a personal decision. Fair enough.

It lives up to the promise. I don't do ambient but I love little things that add texture and variety to my fairly straight forward tracks. Glitchwork is perfect for that.whassup wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 5:00 pm I know Chris from many Youtube videos, tutorials, etc. and have a solid, good opinion of him.

Well, that was my opinion. There are a lot of new developers with new plugins with pro prices: 79$, 99$… as a launch price, all coded with AI.maxym.srpl wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 2:52 pmI can't agree.
