No, bumping a nine-month dead thread just to say its four years old is a lot sodding sillier.Djnorythm wrote:This is just plain silly. A four year old thread about emulating the Vortex. Good luck.

Can't wait!
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

likewise. though i would hope there's an alternate UI; direct copy of the hardware's clunky knob pair isnt ideal.

While tempting since I love my vintage pair of hardware Vortexii, I'm sticking with the hardware.
I do certainly applaud your attempts to make it a Vst though for folks without hardware.

Lucky you! As a Lexicon fanatic, I've always been intrigued by the Vortex' reputation but they're virtually impossible to find these days, according to the stats in 2025/2026 a hopping two units have shown up on reverb.Dirk Diggler wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 12:31 pm While tempting since I love my vintage pair of hardware Vortexii, I'm sticking with the hardware.

I traded away a very nice neck through bass when the Vortex first came out.
You might check on Ebay from time to time.
They used be as cheap as Alex's are today, just a couple years ago.

Hmmmm...bought an Alex when they were new. Always wanted a Vortex but never got round to getting one and regretted it ever since. Very interested to hear this. My Alex is half porked - some presets work, some don't...it never liked sitting in a damp old cellar I used to have as a studio. Build quality is questionable - ironically I have some old Behringer gear from the same time that suffered same conditions and they all work perfectly 30 yrs later. Lost half my Alex and a LA4C that now crackles like a bastard, so the posh gear is the dodgiest.
Anyway, looking forward to a Vortex plugin. Will almost certainly buy it if it sounds even remotely like the real thing. Those were pretty well the last decent hw units Lexicon sold IMO. Didn't the Vortex let you morph between presets or something similar?
