He has a new chorus plugin with a YouTube video as of May 4th, 2026. So, some sign of life. Just not here.

Lol, and for some reason he's taken the chorus plugin down, it's no longer available for sale.Hewitt Huntwork wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 9:41 pm He has a new chorus plugin with a YouTube video as of May 4th, 2026. So, some sign of life. Just not here.
I like this person's plugins, but it would be nice to have more communication. Maybe their intent is to create an aura of mystery?

A smart dev wont interact with customers in public forums especially on here. sometimes it goes ok, often it doesnt. best for devs to stay away and use email channels with customers.

Any new dev who says they're "Happy to answer any questions about the DSP or design" should interact with customers in a public forum, until they're given a reason not to. If you stand behind your product, it's important to let potential customers know, especially since no one else has any history with you to vouch for you.
The GUI looks interesting, but the buttons for the tape speeds are labeled incorrectly—the speeds should be 1.875 (1 7/8) or 3.75 (3 3/4). The buttons are labeled 1 1/g(? It doesn't really look like an 8, but that wouldn't really help much, anyway.) and 3 1/4. The list of features to the right has the correct speeds.
None of the "faders"/sliders seem to have numbers, and the one on the bottom-left shows the handle in two places at the same time. And neither of the sliders has a label. Are those sliders for the Tone and Width that are mentioned in the list of features?
A few GUI issues to iron out, but this could be interesting. But without any response from the dev after almost a month....

I take your point - and certainly a thread has the potential to descend into (often petty) arguments or get side-tracked by some relatively minor aspect at the expense of the overall thread.plexuss wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 1:57 am A smart dev wont interact with customers in public forums especially on here. sometimes it goes ok, often it doesnt. best for devs to stay away and use email channels with customers.
However, on the balance of play, I think there is still much more to be gained when a developer interacts with interested (potential) customers on websites such as this.
Also, mods and other thread members are always able to draw attention to other members who are 'out of order'.
Many developers have built up excellent reputations here and on other music forums due to their regular / occasional interaction with forum members, which perhaps helps with sales etc.
(I'm sure that you and I can name a few such developers with excellent forum reputations).
Cheers.

There are a couple of those with threads on gearspace right now, maybe you're thinking of them? Gulf Coast Synthesis Model 8 and EMR Music Group TAPE 16.legendCNCD wrote: Sun May 10, 2026 10:39 am I was thinking if this was a DAW... like Tape 16 but 4 track.

Hey everyone, and I owe ya'll an apology.
Being new to KVR I didn't expect so many replies... *turning on notifactions NOW lol* That's my bad. I'm going to actually be around from here.
Answering questions:
@Krakatau good call. 4TRK isn't ONLY a guitar tool, it just gets shown on guitars a lot. It's a tape and lo-fi effect, so it works on drums, vocals, synths, full submixes, anything you run through it. I'll get examples up on non-guitar sources, a drum bus and a full mix especially, since that shows what it actually does better than another guitar clip.
@seangm thank you for coming back and being fair about it. You're right that the early Roomtone build shipped without a usable Windows VST3, and right that I was too slow to respond. That's fixed now (signed VST3, AU and Standalone on both platforms), and I'm glad it's working for you. I'm tightening up support.
@JerGoertz really glad they're landing for the retro indie thing, that's exactly what they're for. And sorry about the email, same problem, I'm getting on top of it.
And on the ai slop worry, I pour my HEART and soul in this b. Working around the clock because I just love music production and making plugins in general. I do a ton of research for my plugins. It's real saturation (the nonlinear stages run oversampled to stay clean), real modeled wow and flutter, and the print through and dropouts are modeled tape behavior, not just layered noise samples. Happy to go as deep as you want on any of it.
Thanks for the patience yall.. I'll be answering questions ASAP on here. Got those noti's on.
Best,
Josh - NVA

Answering questions:
Yes, and you don't have to fake it with the mix knob. It has a dedicated Vibrato mode (the VIB button next to CHR): a single mono voice with a sine pitch wobble, right in the classic vibrato-pedal range of about ±26 to 28 cents. The Mix is a true dry/wet, so at 100% the dry drops out completely, which is exactly why the factory vibrato presets sit at full wet. (In chorus mode the mix knob blends dry and wet the normal way; vibrato is its own mode rather than just chorus with the dry pulled out.) Hope that makes cents...uhh I mean senseHewitt Huntwork wrote:Does your chorus pedal plugin do vibrato at 100% wet?
This is the most common ask here and it's fair. There's no trial build right now. What I can offer today is a 14 day, no questions asked refund on everything, so you can run it in your own sessions and if it's not for you I refund you, no hassle. I'm also seriously looking at putting out a proper demo version, because clearly a lot of you want to hear it in your own DAW first. Point taken (@careyletendre, @Junkyard Sam, this is for you too).Uncle E wrote:Is there a demo version?

Hi Josh! Thank you for your response. I'm glad you quoted me. I just checked this thread last night after seeing a new product thread from you that also encouraged questions and was surprised to see you hadn't followed up on this one. If you hadn't quoted me, I wouldn't have gotten a notification here, and would have written you off indefinitely based on having checked this thread last night and still not seeing any response. I appreciate the explanation. Welcome to KVR!
