It's sad that it'll be a boxed-only product though.
Multiple CDs? Gigabytes of download? Mackie ISP bandwidth?!? Cost-ineffective!!! Box+Manual+shrink wrap+multiple CDs==more salable product!!

Remember, lots of people don't buy software *except* through retail channels. Something about laying hands on. That will also assist impulse buying alongside Mackie hardware.

Having just bought AmplitubeLIVE/LE, RMIV, Sampletank2LE (stable in T1 by the way headquest) I am a bit dissapointed to have blown that cash.
They were pretty big purchases for me. If they had let us know what they were considering I could have held off a little while.
I was wondering if these plugins will be T2 only versions. Most likely I guess. I think SampletankSE is a smaller sample library version of the full Sampletank. Same functionality though. Correct me if I am wrong.

T2 ... Kontakt 2 ... Sound Forge 8 ... three things that are definitely on my shopping list already (which already contained Reason 3), and it's only DAY ONE! Argh!

OK kids you must understand that these freebie plugs are like little teasers that these companies are "giving away" in hopes that you will purchase the full version.
Now hoping that all kits will be there or that Sample Tank will have "many" sounds and loops is a little naive.
Yes there will be some but don't keep your hopes too high.
OK?

Anybody find the price a bit steep? I mean, FLstudio producer is $149.00, so is Cakewalk and EnergyXT is what, $60.00 and to tell the truth I was expecting the price to be 150 bux or so.
Now I know it's MSRP and retailer will probably offer it for a bit less, but still...
As to the bundled plugins, a lot of them are freely downloadable now, and the others I don't expect will be full blown version anyway so they shouldn't have an incidence on price.
Now this price doesn't affect me directly as I own T1 (well, 2 licenses actually) and will probably pay a lot less than that, but I'm still facing paying more for an update than for the original program; even though T was cheap to begin with, I still feel a bit weird about that...

Well, the MSRP for T1 was always $149 (edit - the Mackie MSRP)

Surely you noticed that Amplitube LE, Slayer2, and RMIV are not only full products, but well respected? No need to be condescening! I for one am happy as hell about Amplitube LE, whether it's a cut-down "giveaway" or not.AndrewSimon wrote:OK kids you must understand that these freebie plugs are like little teasers that these companies are "giving away" in hopes that you will purchase the full version.

It's bad news for those who have purchased it recently, but I can imagine Mackie/RMS didn't want to step on the other manufacturers' toes until those manufacturers had their own NAMM release announcements, so I can understand the 'wait till the last minute' reasoning behind that particular aspect of the T2 release list.
The price... seems fair to me, as I explained in a different thread. Other people are certainly entitled to their opinions, as it's personal perspective after all.
Even at $199, it's clear that Tracktion hopes to maintain at least a part of the beginner market-- hence the need/desire to include so many things that some of us may or may not use, including a set of "many loops" for Sampletank SE.
Regarding ST2LE and my purchase of it-- it came with the Combi Kits group buy. It's fully capable of playing back any ST2 sounds that you may buy for it; however, it's usually sold only as a "player" and without any other sounds. As far as I know, there is no ST2LE standalone that you can buy that comes with sounds.
