Sorry if this is the wrong area to talk about this in but I think it would be helpful if in the app itself you could report a bug with relevant information. There's this whole "hide" and "remove from list" feature, but it doesn't explain why I would be doing that. Mostly I get things like a developer posting Bigwig 2 without any version number, but it's the only version on their site, or the AU only reads 2 without reading 2.13 etc. and of course it flags older versions as out of date when a paid upgrade is available etc.Ben [KVR] wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2026 3:18 pm Version 0.4.0.0 just uploaded.

So I use this beta software without knowing how to report it, except maybe on this forum, and those posts go unanswered so I'm a bit confused about that.

What happens? Is there a crash message? If so, could you post it (or mail it to ksm@kvraudio.com).
thanks

Disappears as in KSM itself quits?olh wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2026 12:44 pm It scans for a few seconds and then disappears. Nothing is stored. This is in Windows11 pro up to date.
What happens if you scan plugin formats separately? i.e. presumably the VST3 scanner still works ok and it's just the AAX scanner that crashes.
I've just noticed that the AAX scanner does not log its progress in the log like the others do. I'll get that fixed so we can see if there’s a specific plugin that's triggering the crash.

Could you try 0.4.0.1 please: https://static.kvraudio.com/files/175/k ... -4-0-1.exe
It now logs AAX scans so when it crashes we should be able to see what file was last accessed.
Could you email ksm@kvraudio.com the newest KVR Studio Manager_YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS.log file.
Options > Show Log File will open the file location - do that before running the scan so the most recent one will definitely be the one where it crashes (a new log is created each time you start KSM so if you restart KSM I'll need the second newest...).

It works for me. Try again!
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

Why is the single-file scan not a simple right-click option in the list of plugins? With it, I could scan a plugin I just updated to shorten the list of out-of-date plugins or see whether the update changed anything with regard to the version numbers.
Such a right-click option should automatically sync that plugin after it is scanned.

Is it possible to add config option on what plugin types to scan during "Scan all"?
Many plugin installers do not ask and install all plugin types they support - AAX, CLAP, VST2, VST3. However, I do not use AAX. And if for CLAP and VST I can choose my own custom folders to scan, there is no option to disable scan or choose a folder for AAX. This makes the scan results much more crowded and messy. As a workaround, I just manually delete all plugins in the Avid plugin folder, but would strongly prefer a more granular scan config in KSM.
