Hey all, Carlos here, Meow Seq developer. I just came across this thread, really glad Meow Seq made it into the conversation and thank you to those who gave it a proper look!
I know the plugin looks like a toy plugin at first glance so I'm really glad you guys gave it a try, because I'm a modular enthusiast and the functionality has always been the top priority. I wanted to create a plugin that takes some of the more time-consuming patches I often lean towards where multiple sequencers are running in and out of phase with each other, but deliver it in a more performative, simple and FAST to use experience. This is also one of the reasons for the big buttons which are easy to hit quickly with just the mouse. Not sure if the cute theme is helping me that much but I tried to make it so it's not a distraction for the workflow, but still catches some attention.
For the question on automation of the start/stop button, I made a tutorial video which explains the intended workflow where you can use phrase mode to start and stop the sequencer with incoming MIDI notes. I will look into the bugs of MIDI output stopping though, I'm really grateful for the feedback.
The automation of the patterns is also addressed in the video (in the bank section). It's not the most intuitive way of handling pattern automation so it's worth checking the video for that if you are confused. I'm open to suggestions as well.
And since it came up earlier, the intro price is still running through the end of July for anyone who missed it.
Thanks again, I'm around if anyone has questions, either here or in the other thread I started.

Hi - I purchased Meow Seq. I like the design style and how much variation it fits into a clean UI. I would love a randomizer. I was thinking you could just click the cat logo in either section and it could randomize the parameters of the engine currently in view? No UI change or anything. What do you think?floofaudio wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2026 10:26 am Hey all, Carlos here, Meow Seq developer. Hi and thanks for picking it up! I have noticed people are asking for randomization options. I think your idea about using the cats as clickable buttons is a really good one!GusGranite wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2026 1:47 am Hi - I purchased Meow Seq. By the way, in case you missed it, the direction mode slider (the one that says “FWD”) can be set to RNG which randomizes the step order for your already selected step values. I realize this is different from getting a new random step pattern entirely, but I just wanted to mention it.
Now back to your idea, there are a few things to consider.
1: What should the randomization include? Only steps of the currently viewed sequencer (e.g velocity), or should it include step count and direction mode as well? I could do a ctrl + click variant for this, or even include some choices in the settings menu.
2: Should there be a range for the randomization? Some of the sequencer step values like the octave or velocity could give you a lot of unusable values, like out of range notes for an instrument or silent steps.
3: If a range is wanted I’m open to ideas for how to handle the user interface for this. I’m picturing a thin vertical slider on the left side of the steps for setting randomization range.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this, and from anyone that is interested.

Motion Tones by Quiet Music
I instantly fell in love with this thing. It's currently on intro offer.
Motion Tones on GumroadMotionTones is a generative instrument you play with physics. Drop balls onto a canvas and they fall, bounce and collide with the walls and shapes you draw, and every impact rings a note from the scale or chord you choose, voiced by one of 25 ambient instruments. A tempo-synced Bounce engine turns it into an arpeggiator.

Yes, and dont miss the "bonus" on the KVRDC 2026 Reverie, it has the same quality and uniqueness to be sold in this prize category but in the challenge its free..JsinOwl wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 8:29 pm Motion Tones by Quiet Music

Worth to have a look on the other stuff from Quiet Music (especially if you are into Ambient or even more specific Meditation stuff, I have found nothing better so far

- Only steps of the currently viewed sequencer. Step count and direction are easily changed manually.

- Yes, a range would be great. Nice idea.
3: If a range is wanted I’m open to ideas for how to handle the user interface for this. I’m picturing a thin vertical slider on the left side of the steps for setting randomization range.
- Two sliders, one for upper limit, one for lower?
- I’m not in front of the plugin right now so not sure if this translates to every engine though.

Noesis Intelligent Harmony Generator - Plugin & Max4Live
https://dystopianwaves.gumroad.com/l/pnoesisihgaa

"Noesis is an advanced chord progression generator designed to help songwriters, producers, and composers create inspiring harmonic ideas in seconds. Combining deep music theory, intelligent generative algorithms, and genre-aware composition engines, Noesis generates expressive, musical progressions ranging from simple pop harmonies to cinematic soundtracks, jazz-inspired voicings, and modern electronic textures.
Whether you're starting from scratch, importing an existing progression, or refining an unfinished idea, Noesis provides intelligent tools that make exploring harmony fast, intuitive, and highly creative.
Generate complete progressions with a single click, manually build harmonic foundations, explore intelligent substitutions and modulations, or transform existing ideas into entirely new musical directions."
Just adding my two cents: This is, by far, my favorite chord/theory plugin I've ever used. Everything ticks all the boxes for me. The GUI needs some work, (very hard to read/strains my eyes) and I did e-mail feedback about it.

I just found RESERVOIR: Echo State Composer, from NOMN Speculative Audio Tools.
Seems quite...weird. I haven't dug into the details yet, but since I haven't seen it being posted here I thought I would do that first.
