I use a Logitech MX Master 3s as it's fairly large so cups into the palm of my hand nicely and its various buttons lend nicely to keyboard shortcuts. I've set it up for different apps but mainly for Logic Pro so the back button opens mixer, forward button opens piano roll, small top button to duplicate regions, mouse wheel button press plus mouse forward/back to zoom in/out, thumb button to show hide virtual instruments and side scroll to side scroll.
I use a Magic Trackpad for its various features and it is ideal as an X Y pad but I always end up reverting back to the mouse for its shortcuts.

If you use a Mac, an iPad can act as a second screen, if you mirror the screen then a pen can be used as a controller but it is quite fiddly as the cursor disappears from the screen unless you keep the side of your hand on the iPad screen.

The hands down winner is the Kensington Expert Mouse, which is not a mouse at all, but a trackball.

This sounds interesting. Can you elaborate? Does it make anything in particular easier? Or make more sense?
I use it in Mouse mode, not drawing mode. It is the smallest size tablet which minimises the amount of movement your hand has to move. You can also set the area of the track pad to use and how many screens it covers, so I have it set for a small (say half) of the track pad to move across two screens= minimises large movements.
I use a trackpad as I can’t use a traditional mouse with palm face down for extend periods of time. The tablet allows me to have my hand and arm in a neutral position (like holding a pen) to avoid repetitive strain issues.
Having said that, on the other hand I use an Apple track pad, but only very minimally, typically for mouse clicks.
Have used a Wacom tablet as a mouse for over 15 years. I also use it for Photoshop, so it gets a lot of use and makes sense for me.

I have a Logi Lift vertical mouse, and two of their thumb trackballs - the cheaper M570 and the premium MX Ergo Advanced.

Using the vertical mouse right now. None of them give me the wrist pain I encounter with using a regular mouse.
