This can go multiple ways with InMusic. They gutted a few companies but Akai are doing fantastic. When they were bought things were not going well either.jamcat wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 3:38 amWell, InMusic bought Native Instruments (the umbrella company), then spun off Plugin Alliance back to Dirk Ulrich and iZotope to some guy named Boris, and now they're gutting Native Instruments (the MI company) obviously to cannibalize NI's IP into other InMusic brands. But hey, at least it's not Music Tribe!DrGonzo wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2026 3:19 amYeah. Not fun. But that's to be expected, no? If a company is near bankruptcy and is getting bought up by a larger player with cash on their hands, I don't think they would keep the previous business model in place.![]()
I think maybe give it a year or two. You mentioned Arturia, there was a period here on KVR where Arturia were dogshit, and there were some solid reasons people thought that, you could walk into a music store and see clearly how bad the quality was on their keys, all the demos were broken, early analog emulations just didn't really sound like the synths they copied at all and their upgrade system was garbage. I would dog NI a bit and people would defend deflect and deny. They were the golden child for a while.
NI still are instrumental in bringing solid tech to the industry, Kontakt is king of third party development for good reasons. The Mk3 version of the Kontrol keyboards are dammed near perfect. But this is KVR, a wounded animal will be ruthlessly dismembered.

U-He Hive takes care of most of my super-saw needs. But hey if it's part of a discounted Komplete update later....
