Yeah. Not fun. But that's to be expected, no? If a company is near bankruptcy and is getting bought up by a larger player with cash on their hands, I don't think they would keep the previous business model in place.
Well, InMusic bought Native Instruments (the umbrella company), then spun off Plugin Alliance back to Dirk Ulrich and iZotope to some guy named Boris, and now they're gutting Native Instruments (the MI company) obviously to cannibalize NI's IP into other InMusic brands. But hey, at least it's not Music Tribe! :phew:
This can go multiple ways with InMusic. They gutted a few companies but Akai are doing fantastic. When they were bought things were not going well either.

I think maybe give it a year or two. You mentioned Arturia, there was a period here on KVR where Arturia were dogshit, and there were some solid reasons people thought that, you could walk into a music store and see clearly how bad the quality was on their keys, all the demos were broken, early analog emulations just didn't really sound like the synths they copied at all and their upgrade system was garbage. I would dog NI a bit and people would defend deflect and deny. They were the golden child for a while.

NI still are instrumental in bringing solid tech to the industry, Kontakt is king of third party development for good reasons. The Mk3 version of the Kontrol keyboards are dammed near perfect. But this is KVR, a wounded animal will be ruthlessly dismembered.

Nor did they see what "Brat summer" was about in 2024.

Nor did they look up who Sophie collaborated with when news of their tragic death was everywhere.

Etc. etc...

Just odd to me. No curiosity.
You can like music and simply not be into pop, nor care to learn the names of producers who make music that you aren't interested in.

What's odd is thinking that everyone who likes music likes a specific Sub genre of music and was trolling the depths of SoundCloud ten years ago looking for it. More importantly it's odd that anyone would think the average core customer of NI spent thousands of dollars on it to replicate the sound of PC Music

Just had a quick listen to the first two PC Music compilation albums for the first time, and have to ask as someone who has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on NI software over the years what exactly is the draw? I don't really hear anything there that couldn't be made with freeware that was then compressed to hell and run though some hideous tape sim with added noise to sound "retro"

I had a dim view of the future of NI in the inMusic ecosystem, but if they are now hitching their wagon to that and that is supposed to be the guiding light forward for the company I have an even dimmer view than before.

I guess NI really is dead if inMusic thinks branding and marketing products like this are going to keep their core long term customers like me in the fold

NI have always prominently featured modern dance pop producers and DJs, nothing has changed there.

As well as performers in all kinds of genres like R & B, Soul, Pop etc.

But for this particular thing, I really can't think of any synth concept that could be less interesting. It's too bad their re-entry into the non-reaktor synth plugin market was so meh.

A 90 quid supersaw generator wasn't on my NI bingo card. Don't care about celeb endorsements or involvement. It's not for me.

Watching the demo video, the modulation options and dice make it look actually like a fun synth to play with, but I already have plenty fun synths to play with that don't get enough use, not sure adding one more would help me
