Nor did they see what "Brat summer" was about in 2024.

Nor did they look up who Sophie collaborated with when news of their tragic death was everywhere.

Etc. etc...

Just odd to me. No curiosity.
Sophie who?

Seems to me this is more a Super Swarm synth than traditional supersaw - they probably would get more interest if they marketed it as such.

Ah, RIP it wasn't meant as a dig, honestly never heard of her (and thought PC World was a magazine)

PC World was a shop, wasn't it? Think it got swallowed by Curry's

So it was - mixing it up with Computer Music - 'Senior moment' lol

It's "PC Music" and it's wild to me how many posts on KVR are just saying "I'm ignorant" like it's a badge of honor.

I'm in my mid to late 40's (Gen X but on the cusp), I still listen to the new releases every week. I still read an article about music from time to time. I still get digital editions of Sound on Sound, Beat, PC Gamer (I don't even play video games), Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, Wired etc. sent to me every month from my library (and many other magazines).

Humanity and culture are intertwined - is your culture any deeper than who makes the most accurate Prophet clone? Come on folks. Don't give up on yourselves.

Anyway, glad I listened to some Sophie this morning while I did the dishes. Nice blast from the past. Some wicked DX7 and SUPERSAWS in there. Hyperpop is not an easy listen. Loud. Not for everyone but an era that shook music.

I do miss Soundcloud when it was good.

I just don't hear anything I can't do with Massive X and maybe Molekular on the fx chain.

Or how many posts on KVR is people saying look at how cool and special they think they are because they like a particular genre of music

No one is ignorant because they don't know about some obscure DJ or so called producer that the overwhelming vast majority of humans of the earth have never heard of

So now the culture of all of humanity is based on your knowledge of obscure hipster producers who released music on SoundCloud

Don't give up on yourself there's is an entire world beyond SoundCloud and hipster EDM

But maybe what we all need to finally arrive at the cool kids table is a $99 Supersaw Synth. If we had that we would instantly become culturally relevant.

I have no idea who says the like a certain genre or thinks they are cool because of it. I guess that is something you've kept tabs on. There are a lot of posts in this thread alone doing the "I'm ignorant!" thing.

And we don't have to expand this to "vast majority of humans on earth". How silly. How about folks who make synthesizer music in the era of plugins.

A lot of people read the NY Times, though. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/09/arts ... apple.html

Apparently to you culture is defined by what Synths you own, and who has the most accurate Prophet 5, and you think if you don't know who was on SoundCloud a decade or more ago releasing music you don't like you are not cultured or humans since according to you they are intertwined

I will let you think you wrote something that made sense since it is Friday.

Plus you are up there hyperediting. I should have quoted.

I always thought being "cultured" meant you were well versed in classical art, music, and literature, not some random techno uploaded to the internet 10 years ago.

I have been living my life all wrong.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP
