Beno - has the sampler in T2 been improved at all?

While I wish the sampler was improved(at least ADSR and velocity layers), I can see why they couldn't focus on it. There are many options out there if you want a sampler. Plus, most sample libraries come with a player now anyway. The rest can be converted to Soundfont and played in the free SFZ(unless Cakewalk take that away from us. I hope not.)
But we'll get what we get. I would guess that a couple of the "many, many" features may include small improvements from the sampler. But it's just a guess. We'll see!

There is the "Ignore Release" button, which prevents this...PT wrote:There is no ADSR in the T1 sampler so as soon as you release a key it cuts off abruptly.

An LFO and a filter would be nice too...

And thus the reason for the 'Simpler' name. It is more powerful than T1's an every other way though. It does what it does well, I'd love a 'Simpler' style sampler in T2. It's especially cool to grab samples from your mix on the fly and create new instruments. I often just record something, trim it, drop it in Simpler, tweak it a bit, and move on.headquest wrote:And mapping multiple samples is a breeze... which you can't do at all in Live 4's "Simpler"![]()
When you start mapping multiple samples, then you might as well use something more powerful. When I need that in Live I just use Impulse anyway.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I have never used the sampler, I find the jargon a barrier. Anyone got a link to a tutorial for muppets like me?

Something that combines Tracktion's sampler features (multisampling/mapping) with those in Simpler would be very nice, I thinkbraj wrote:And thus the reason for the 'Simpler' name. Look, the sampler has not changed. If the sampler had been improved there would be a feature on the list saying "With new improved sampler". There isn't one. So it's not changed.
T2 ships with a drum machine/sampler from Linplug, which has ADSR, pitch shift, bit crusher, distortion, one click reverse etc etc, and is very easy to use. Try the demo from the Linplug site.

You're probably right, and I for one am fine with that
However,... there are more than 100 improvements in T2, so there are obviously numerous changes that don't grab the headlines as far as Mackie's site is concerned but which will be welcomed by those of us experienced with T1.
We'll just have to wait and see

I don't think i can take the suspense (and the speculation). I might actually have to go and record some music instead of posting on this forum
