It's calibrated to the output of "correctly aligned" tape machine so we don't have the different emphasis curves - we should probably at least put in an adjustable hf emphasis though.jamcat wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2026 12:36 am Is the tape machine NAB or CCIR?
I don't see an option in the interface to select which standard.

Correctly aligned tape machines still have an EQ emphasis: NAB (US) or CCIR (EU/UK) at 15 ips and AES at 30 ips. Calibration is different for each standard. It’s similar to Dolby NR with pre-emphasis during recording and de-emphasis during playback. It’s an important component in modeling an authentic tape sound.mighty_bombjack wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2026 4:24 pmIt's calibrated to the output of "correctly aligned" tape machine so we don't have the different emphasis curves - we should probably at least put in an adjustable hf emphasis though.jamcat wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2026 12:36 am Is the tape machine NAB or CCIR?
