How stable ae they? Some of Jon's plugs have given me headaches in teh past (I know much of his stuff is pretty much permanently beta) and that's partly why I never quite got round to checking these plugs out.

I found the demo of the original Dicer to be a bit.. less than stable. It didn't crash, but it didn't behave in a predictable way.

Microdicer worked fine for the amount of time I used it. I couldn't give you an honest and accurate assessment, though, because all I did is load it up, slice up a loop, play it back with MIDI, re-arrange the MIDI, play it in real-time with MIDI...

And put it away.

I mostly wanted to try it because I'm a curious sort of guy. It did what it should do, and it didn't crash.

As for Dicer, I've not used it extensively, either. I know what it's -capable- of from the descriptions and trying the original demo back in the day; however, I've not purchased it and therefore haven't used it for much. I anticipate that Dicer 2 will address a lot of issues since it will use Microdicer's new and improved engine.

In other words: sorry, don't know for sure how stable it is.

Regarding the Loops thing-- I'm pretty sure the loops referred to are just loops that play back in SampleTank. Sampletank itself offers matching to host tempo (Well, the ST2LE version, I'm not familiar with this particular version so you never know), but that doesn't mean that T will feature the kind of looping tools on the timeline that you're hoping for.

I also hope for improved timestretch and beatslice. For all you guys who prefer to use drumloops instead of drum midi programming I suggest to switch from timestrech to beatslice. It sounds better, tempo can be altered in real time (timestrech in real time is some serious CPU hog) and it is more convinient to use. Therefore, I still have a hope that Jules will incorporate some kind of beat slicing into T2. Lets pray.

It could be midi loops, or something to be used from inside ST.

I tested out Microdicer and it was really quite easy to use. In the end, I didn't get it because it was basic functionality I had in other programs; however, Dicer offered new functionality and ICLUDES Microdicer for when you don't need the full deal.

It does? That's cool. I just looked at dicer and found microdicer's Ui to be much easier on the eyes, but for 10 extra dollars it'd be silly not to.

Microdicer is based on Dicer2 which isn't out yet
(or you could say it the other way around: Dicer2 will be based on Microdicer but will have Dicer's advanced functionality)
