Actually no, this all started development long before the insolvency saga and inMusic buyout. So inMusic did not figure anything out here, they are continuing to carry the torch though.

So this was occuring as inMusic was considering buying NI from the ashes, and subsequently did

So now inMusic is making money from it as we see with Super*Saw

So most certainly inMusic has figured out a way to get revenue from plugins other people develop.

So tell us, I mean since you claim to know so much, does inMusic expect to make money from the Ni acquisition? If so wouldn't that mean they figured out a way to make money from plugins other people develop? Even if that means buying the assets of another company?

It shouldn't be, but some people need to invent strawman arguments and don't understand what due diligence means when one company acquires another

It's simple inMusic plans to make make money from the NI Acquisition. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, or be a point of contention. But apparently for some people that is

Big companies often make more money by bankrupting acquisitions. They also do things to pump it up in the market before doing so to increase profits in other ways. Just a fact of doing business.

Anyways, reaktor 7 with potentially big new things is nice to hear. Hopefully they make it easy for people to explore. I’m sure people making commercial ensembles are stoked.

Five years ago this might have been a good idea, now it's a bit of a meh. Data flow languages are an abstraction over low level coding, but with LLMs, so is the English language now, and it's accessible to everyone. I regularly get comeons in my email from the various Reaktor devs. For someone already engaged with Reaktor, it's kind of a meh. If I'm not going to give you money for a your ensemble which would allow me to git into it and use bits of it, I'm certainly not going to give you money for a VST version of it that's opaque.

So, customers outside the ecosystem might, but, the target market for the product in the first place is devs with budgets willing to give up a part of their sales for NI distribution assistance? Maybe there's something there, maybe it will make NI a bit more interesting to some people, but I think that the glory days are over. I'm not using Reaktor anymore, and I was an outspoken advocate for years. You can't allow your proprietary building system atrophy and then expect people to stay committed.

Meh, we'll see when it gets here. I will still have to have a Mac in my studio, that may or may not be true at the time. I doubt that they will ever support Linux.

We are starting to see trendy / smaller devs moving to Linux. There continues to be evidence of a windows exodus all over the scene. Here's hoping fr a Linux beta!
