on my system the vst crashes my daw when I change presets from different folders, delete modules, or remove plugin instances

I need to sleep and will be busy till late tomorrow. it seems like I am actively collecting bugs and patching them to a degree. I can currently delete modules and change presets. my DAW crashes only when i spam this action for a good half minute

curious if anyone else has had any time to check this build out, the versionI'm working on is still lacking a bit. Have to re integrate the external sidechaining and still have a lot of general crashes and bugs here and there to fix up. I dont know how much time ill have to fully devote to this project over the next week so I appreciate any info I can get

Would it not make more sense to show your repo and work on this with a real issue tracker system?

Since this is now open source and according to the license must stay this way I think that would be the way to go.

I was looking into it this morning as well, but why should anyone use up more resources when you already made the change? That's exactly the point of open source.

Yeah, clone the repo at Github, then start to do your modifications in a branch that can/could be committed to the main repo. Huge benefit is the whole tracker system and that everybody can participate at the changes.

And you might break the license when providing the exe but not the source.

Right, most people here probably get along fine with Git, so I've got no issues there. But instead of GitHub, I’d reckon we use Codeberg. Since Microsoft bought GitHub, it’s been going downhill fast: they shove "AI" down your throat whether you like it or not, your licences are flat-out ignored, it goes down more and more often, and honestly, it’s worth arguing if using a US platform instead of a European one is even a good shout. (Codeberg’s actually solid.)

That's a mirror then, not really a fork. The Git history may be the same, but the GitHub fork relationship and the PR workflow are gone. The surrounding tools are gone as well: GitHub Actions, issue tracking, discussions, and the whole ecosystem around the repository.

And I've been hearing the "GitHub is going downhill" thesis for over ten years now. So far, it still hasn't happened, and it is very unlikely that it ever will. GitHub simply offers what people need.

While I love Codeberg and all they do and I'm running my own instance of Forgejo locally for myself, they have just recently decided to block repos with AI generated code.

It's unfortunate and wrong in my opinion, but that is their decision.

I'm a bit uncomfortable hosting other peoples code on my instance, not because of the code itself but because I don't want the responsibility for other peoples infrastructure. Loosing other peoples resources would be terrible. Loosing my own is annoying yes, and I have pretty good backups in place - but again... I would feel uncomfortable loosing other peoples repos...

Ill look into cloning the repo on github sometime soon, appreciate feedback cause this really isn't my field of expertise. My goal here is to make a build of this so I can get crazy with it on renoise. Spectrumworx is intuitive like spec-ops but hardcore like spectral magic. Its dank.

I patched external sidechaining back into the build, and its functioning pretty well atm. Ill probably post a git repo tomorrow or the next day depending on how busy I get. The plugin still crashes here and there but its working a lot better than it was two days ago

Yeah, it's a shame Danijel and co couldn't figure out how to monetise Alexey's crazy DFT functions.. Let's hope jacob can squash the bugs and create a stable version..
