Oh you bet I'm going to upgrade. I think Tracktion is excellent, and v2 will be even better. I don't mind the plugins at all if they are not forced on me.
For me, the new features in T2 justified the upgrade before the plugins were ever announced.

Me too, I'll only be installing Amplitube LE (unless there are some other non-freeware gems included!) I've spent months now trying to streamline my plugin folders and get rid of everything I don't use. Thank you for the heads up! What do you like, dislike about the program other than this?
- I like the clip paradigm
- I like the simple mixer
- I like the drum sampler "Impulse"
- I like most of the effects
- I mostly like the routing, but prefer the way Tracktion handles ReWire
- I like the way that MIDI files load in the browser rather than auto-connecting to tracks
- I like the pretty GUI
- I like the automation (which is identical to Tracktions, mind you, but without curved fade-in/outs, so a bit limited... Tracktion's automation is better)
- I like the general simplicity
- I like the "scene" approach to arranging
...but then again:
- I dislike the CPU hit, to the extent that I can only use it either by ReWiring in Reason's mega-CPU-friendly devices instead of VSTs, or bounce everything straight away
- I dislike the Arrange view in general; Tracktion is way better environment when it comes to linear work
- I dislike the timestretch, which is nowhere near as good as is sometimes made out, and can be disastrous if you don't select the correct one of the four algorhythmic choices most suitable for each clip's material
- I dislike that some important features are actually hidden away
- I dislike the fact that once the CPU hits around 65% audio breaks up. This doesn't happen in Tracktion til more like 85-90%, even at lower latencies than Live seems able to handle
- I dislike the quality of recordings, which clip even at low levels on my system. I think that the meters are probably broken
- I dislike the sound quality in general, as previously mentioned
Most of all I dislike the fact that it isn't what it claimed to be, i.e. a full-on DAW. I'm not a live DJ, and while it may be the dog's do-dahs for that fraternity, it simply doesn't work for me.
And to those who keep saying "why is Live compared to linear DAWs..." the answer is that in their marketing Ableton made claims to that effect, and in their rave reviews all the magazines stated it was capable of replacing your traditional DAW. It's not. End of story.
So there's the full run down for you, and I hope that saves you the hassle of forking out for something and then regretting it... or alternatively confirms that Live 4 is the program for you

But I'll stand by my statements. I did not say that the versions won't be cut down in any way. I said they wouldn't be demos. And the ones that are cut down, it says. Like Amplitube and Sampletank. The others don't say that. And I highly doubt that Mackie would throw a bunch of demo plugs into their new software. Yeah, that would be smart.
So yes, I KNOW that these won't all be demos or whatever. Kits may be missing, or some features disableed on a couple, but other than that, it will be as it says. Besides, there are more than 70 plugs included, and we don't even know half of them yet.
I go by what the print says. I'm not speculating. If it said demo version or SE or LE or something, than that's what it is. If not, than it's not. That's just what it says.
