EVE Serial Number - Another Attempt!

Hi,when trying to the enter the serial number into EVE (which I bought 17th December 2004!!!), only the following letters are recognised: F,J,K,M,R,S,U,V,W,Y,Z. My serial number has the letters P,O,I,L etc . . . which are NOT recogised at all.

In fact, when I key any of those letters in, the cursor jumps to Cubase SX 3 transport bar. No matter what I do, I simply cannot enter my serial number. This is most frustrating as I have yet to use what seems to be a great synth. I have emailed Dash several times, with no resolution forthcoming.

Any help greatly appreciated . . .

one idea is to do a simple copy and paste. Use notebook if you need to... to type out the serial number...then right click and copy it. Then in EVE, right click and Paste it ( or CNTL-V)

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already tried that way back in December (as I have already informed Dash). It will just not accept the rogue letters, no matter how you try it. Incidentally, to enter numbers, the keypad cannot be used - one has to use the numbers above the qwerty stuff on the keyboard!!!

Here's a shot in the dark. It sounds like Sx recognizes those inputs as Sx commands. Try downloading another host like vsthost or tobybears mini host to do the authorization.
Unless of course you have already tried something similar?

Hi MRT,
Me a happy bunny now! I can't believe I never thought of your idea. I got hold of MiniHost and one Ctrl+V later it all works! I realised Cubase SX was interpreting the letters as commands, I just didn't figure on trying another host. One really does learn something everyday!!!
