I'm looking for any othe Slicy or Filling Drummer users out there to test/confirm something for me if possible.
Currently I load Slicy into a demo of Sonar and then use Midi Yoke to get the midi signal into Tracktion where I have my Durm VSTi. The biggest pain in the ass for me whith this set up is the fact that although it says it is sending say the kick on C1 when it gets into Tracktion the Kick on C1 doesn't play.... I end up changing what note the Kick is being sent on in Slicy to say C3 and then low and behold the Kick on C1 in Tracktion starts to play :? :?: :help:

Is it just me or is there something going on here? Shouldn't C1 be C1 ?

If anyone else out there could confirm/try this set up out and tell me how they go I'd appreciate it.

I don't have Slicy/Fillin drummer. But I do know not all hosts use the same C1 as C1. It could be C2 or C3 or C0. :) (No, Tracktion isn't the only host like this, so it's NOT Tracktion's fault)

Seriously, isn't getting a MIDI durmloop package much less troublesome?

for me slicy drummer in T is two octave lower than most plug ins. for example the c1 pad is actually triggeried by c-1 if this helps you at all.

put a pitch-shift filter before your drum vsti

Thanks for the info. I could have just bought a CD of loops but Slicy allows for so much more :)

@Neil G
Thanks for you reply also :) I'll just have to get used to usng the pitch shifter plug in for now... unless MFX support is a yet to be announced feature of T2 :shock: but I seriously doubt it.

Do you have to use another host to use SlicyDrummer in Tracktion? I haven't tried it, but it seems interesting.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Tracktion doesn't currently support MFX like Slicy so you either have to Host it in Sonar or buy DR-008 and then load it in Tracktion. I'm not going to but DR-008 just for that.

I don't mind running it from the Sonar demo it's just a pain getting the mapping sorted sometimes and it kind of kills the music making mood ya know?

Did you notice the reply from MusicLab in a thread somewhere around here about a week ago?--They intend to update Slicy and Fill-in to work as regular VSTs so more people can use them. Nothing about it on the website as far as I can see.

That's cool. I was planning on checking out Jamstix when it comes out, and if it doesn't do it for me, maybe SlicyDrummer will.

Yeah they have been talking about it for a while, it's a little slow coming. I might front up the $$$ for it depending on the deal offered existing Slicy users. This is just a hobby for me these days so I can't really justify spending much on it. Although some day I will have dedicated studio room set up :!: Some day!

i own slicy and id say yes. the packages loops arent all that and the editing isnt all that either. much easier to just use a piano roll, plus the swing sounds akward when doing housey stuff.

if i had to do it again, i wouldnt of bought it. the step sequencer in dr-008 is just as powerfull if not more especially since when loaded in dr-008, all the function of slicy arent available.
