Ok, if you have a chance, you need to look at one of Mackie's new products, the Digital X Bus. I can't afford it, but it truly looks awesome. I first saw it today in MIX magazine, but it's on the website also.
First, it has a touch screen. Ok, nothing special. But it can host VST's INTERNALLY! A mixer that can host VST's! Isn't that just the coolest thing? Oh, and using what they call "fader swap," you can use the faders to control the VST parameters. Now I'm drooling all over the place.
Plus, real time surround panning USING THE TOUCH SCREEN. You can draw the path of your audio. And there are TWO, count em, TWO digital touch screens. Put your screen mixer on one and plugs on the other, or whatever.
Look on the Mackie site for the coming soon products and look for the Digital X Bus. I'm sorry to put this here, but it's a cool looking thing. I can't afford it, but maybe someday.

According to the review in Sound On Sound it comes with Tracktion as one of its applications. So it probably would be a good combinationm00ndancer wrote:Since we still are OT![]()
