You know what the weird thing is?, I was typing my reply when you wrote that! :-o . I actually didnt even see that until you mentioned it afterwards.

All you have to do is THINK about Macs and I'll reply. My mac radar is amazing.

Foreal tho, I'm just kinda observing the forum to see if I can help anybody with T1. Other than that it seems like I'm repeating my point of view over and over and over and over. So I'm trying not to clutter the forum and let the other guys fight it out.

Even though T2's pricing is rather reasonable compared to the competitions, it's no longer an $80 app anymore. I bet we'll be witnessing MUCH more crap threads from new T2 users in the future.

This is just the dawn of the new era...

Yeah, you can stretch pre-made bass loops, or pre-made vocals as well.

How many classic records were made before anyone had even heard of time-stretch? When delay effects were created by stretching tape between two decks?

Are you really all incapable of making music without the ability to make a bit of audio a bit longer or shorter than it should be?

:nutter:
i have a live saxophonist that i record with

then i take parts that he played and make songs out of them adding my own bass lines, drums etc. after hes already gone for the day. should i call him back and say, hey, i need you to play that one line over again just a few bpms faster.

i dont think so.

plus before mackie, jules would fix bugs every day. theres lots of well known bugs in T1 and we havent had a bug fix or update for over 6 months or something, i think its even more. not to mention theres no mention of these bugs being fixed within T2. at least they can tell us that the bugs are fixed, no?

i think the old jules(before mackie) could have written us a new timestretch in a matter of days.

that is all

im still updating for the new piano roll and midi sync but i did pay for the og app and i do have the right to voice my opinion on a public forum, which is in fact made to voice your opinions so....take it or leave it.

you guys talk about getting pissed about everyone writing negative things, dont read them. its that simple, just like some people wont update.

Now, long time users are saying 'Mackie controls it, love it or leave it' essentially without regard for the spirit the app was designed in.
FWIW my "love it or leave it" attitude has nothing to do with Mackie. I've always been one to correct others when they call it "Mackie's" tracktion. I'm pretty sure Jules still makes the decisions about what goes into Tracktion, and that's never been different. If you don't like what Jules does with his app, that's just too bad. He's still aware of his users and what they want, but he's certainly (never been) under any obligation to do it.

Mackie allowed Jules to take his work to the next level, by giving him the backing and resources to compete on a much larger scale. Is it entirely unreasonable to think that Jules would want to provide support for Mackie products even without their asking for it?

There are *loads* of things I'd like to see in T2, many of which I had always thought were going to be in T1. but guess what? I didn't pay for those features, I paid for Tracktion in it's then current incarnation. The same that you will (or will not) pay for the features that T2 ships with. To whine on and on about how you've been cheated because they aren't giving you what you had hoped for is just utter bullshit imho.

Really, this is getting ridiculous. There are hundreds of features that have been requested for T2. Obviously, not all of them could be implemented. Hey, it's life. to stand with a common cliche around here, "If you don't want it, don't buy it!" Is it really that hard?

First of all, nobody promised us a better timestretch. Secondly, how selfish can you be to think that Jules made a mistake in joining with Mackie? Does anyone stop to think that the guy has to make a living and even possibly support a family or whatever? Mackie allowed him to have a more steady income, and have some of the weight off his shoulders. And you have no idea if he listens to his users. He's still one of the greatest coders out there IMO.

Really, some people really just need to get their blanky and go sit crying in the corner. It's stupid how some people just want a reason to complain. Really, some people ask for things, then gripe when they get it. Idiots.

I'm with Valley. I'm getting pissed at all the constant whining and complaining, especially when we don't even know all the details yet. How do you know what's coming unless you're Jules or Mackie? You don't.

Now, thank you Jules and Mackie for your hard work. It doesn't get said around here enough. Your tools have made my music life easier and more productive. And for that, I'd give you my money for the upgreade even with a quarter of the features being added.

Amen....!!!

Tracktion 1.0 didn't have rack filters, mac version etc etc etc. Tracktion 1.5 (?) was a free upgrade and did.

Tracktion 2.0 doesn't have an improved time stretch. Tracktion 2.2 ....

I'm with Mod and valley on this one guys.

Can i just point out that licencing a timestretch algo would also drive the price up? It's impossible that it wouldn't, as you'd have to pay a third party to licence it. Just as an aside.

I'd personally love to see Jules' take on a beat slicer (more probably than timestretch), as I'd expect it to be a joy to use, but I'm happy to hang on for it.

Ext's equivalent, for me, is absolutely god-awful unusable. I hate it's horrible little interface. Jorgen's ignored my requests to make it all look and feel more like Tracktion. Responsive to users eh? Pah.

Admittedly i haven't actually asked him to, except in my head, but that's no excuse.

somewhere else?

hmmm...like, perhaps, a forum relating Tra...oh

well, sorry for bothering 'you' with 'my' 'little' 'drama'.

the point of Tracktion is making the job in hand easier. my point is, why only make it a bit easier and stop there? i understand all the 'not every new feature can happen at once' comments. surely you can understand the point of view that we've been waiting for improvements to an existing feature (which is, for many, not just me, a creative essential) for a VERY long time, whilst having been left to speculate about it, with no word from Jules or Mackie to inform us one way on another.

'so go and use another app then'. right. that's so helpful toooooo.
