Best plug-ins for Tracktion?

I'm wondering what plugs work best in Tracktion, that fit with workflow, use resources wisely, don't crash, presets are easily accessable etc. What add things that T1 lacks, or otherwise augment it nicely?

if you want to spend some cash... ShortCircuit is the most tracktionesque Sampler I've ever seen. It's intuitive, and can mangle samples with the best. Did I mention how easy it is to use? tops!

..depends on what kind of sounds you like in your music: but the microtonic drum machine is pretty great also (for synthetic kits).

dr-008,rm4,kontakt, z3ta+/pentagon all are extemely stable in T. imo each of these plugs adds imensly to the workflow of T and definately dont get in the way.
i would add Micro Dicer to the list to as i use it everyday in T but it isnt 100% stable and theres a few little bugs to still be worked out.

I think Microtonic has ended up doing something in every tune I've made since I got it!cbit wrote:..depends on what kind of sounds you like in your music: but the microtonic drum machine is pretty great also (for synthetic kits).

Hey braj...
I've not found any VST instruments or effects that don't work in Tracktion except a few dodgy magazine giveaways (e.g SampletankFree).
So just pick the instruments/effects you want (there are plenty of threads giving recommendation on the instruments / effects forums here at KVR), take the demo for a spin and go for it.
Personally I use the Kjaerhus freeware Classic effects and paid-for Golden effects bundle... plus Ambience (great free reverb) and a few others.
For instruments I mostly use Reason 2.5 as a ReWIre slave, which generally caters for all my sound needs.
Good luck mate!

For me Convo Boy has become essential. Love Ambience as well, and all the Classic stuff.
Been using Minimal as a super metronome, and Drumatic for synth drums. Plan on using DR-008 whenever fXpanions gets around to completing the license transfer.
Been monkeying with Cortex, X-Amp and Guitar Suite lately (anyone tried putting multiple amps in line--good stuff!).
Love Asnth, Wusik, eXT, as well...
There are just a ton of great free synths and effects out there to try. FOr me that's the best thing about the VST world....

I'm surprised nobody mentionned Stepchild yet.

Its a step sequencer plugin that looks the same as Tracktion. Some people just can't do step sequencing in a piano roll...

Yes! Stepchild, Senderella, and Tackywrapper from http://www.subminimal.org ARE part of Tracktion, as far as I'm concerned-- but I forgot that you need to download and install them.
