Help with sample rate and project settings

I've been working on a few different projects in T lately at different sample rates and I've noticed a few things.
1) The soundcard settings stick to the last known T config, not the project. Is there a way to associate with a project?
2) Twice I've had to reset the audio card by selecting a different sample rate and then reselecting the correct one even though T started with the right sample rate for the project I was working on. This one is really strange and only happens with one project that coincidentaly was created with the card at 48k and then reset to 88.2k prior to recording.

Sample rate is a global setting, and can't be related to a project. Once you're done experimenting stick to one rate. Keeps it simple...

I thought changing the rate would not make any difference to existing projects (it affects portability) but can't check that at the moment.
