hey, filterscape sounds great dudes, i just bought it (DP4.5).
anyway, i noticed some really wonky permissions today on my global library / audio / plugins / components so i figured i'd mention it, since filterscape is the only .pkg i've installed recently. i think disk utility handled everything fine, but i'm glad i caught it so soon. it could just be a coincedence, but i don't think so...
anyway, i'm in the process of learning the plug, but for now, my only question is preset saving / loading / overwriting, etc. namely, how do i open a preset, make a change, and then save it as the same name? do i have to type in the same name, or what?
filterscape install and preset management

Thanks man!
Dunno about permissions... did they get mangled somehow? - I'm using the normal installer provided from Apple with default settings... this should just work, but let me know if it doesn't...
The text for the manual is finished btw, it just needs some layout. This should be only a couple of days away.
For DP I recommend to use Filterscape's built-in preset management, accessible over the vertical load | save buttons on the top left border of the gui.
Whenever you save a preset that way, it's initially called "untitled", regardless of the original preset name. I've done this intentionally, so that you don't overwrite previously saved stuff by accident. On the other hand, there's a small alert dialog when you save a preset that already exist. Dunno. Maybe I should just display the name of the current preset then...
There's a small bug: The preset list does not update when you save a preset
- You have to click on the folder name to update the preset list. This will be fixed soon!
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Urs

a pleasure as always Urs. i'm not too worried about the permissions thing.
as far as presets, i usually do a lot of tinkering with patches, so my preference would be for the default behavior to be "overwrite", with a separate button for saving as a new patch. not a big deal at all though.
looking forward to the manual-- there are just a few things in VA that are still a mystery to me. sometimes i find that eq flopping all around and i can't figure out why. sounds fab though.

Well... that could have several reasons... for instance, whenever you play a key, everything will jump to the settings that apply to the new note. What you see always reflects the last voice triggered.ascdi wrote:looking forward to the manual-- there are just a few things in VA that are still a mystery to me. sometimes i find that eq flopping all around and i can't figure out why. sounds fab though.
On the other hand, maybe the snapshots are modulated, i.e. by the auto proceed loop, or by an envelope or lfo... I mean, this is what VA is meant for - a synth with a hyperactive eq for each voice...
Well, if you have a patch that acts weird and you don't know why, just send it over, and I'll either explain it to you, or you've found a bug and I'll fix it
Regarding the manual, the text is finished, but the dude doing the layout is too busy currently
Cheers,
