I'm trying to run ComputerMusic Eve in Tracktion.

I'm able to play and record, but as soon as I re-play a clip, my CPU goes crazy until I delete Eve from the list of filters.

It doesn't spike when I mute the clip, but even playing one note on (what sounds like) a simple sound makes the CPU go mental. If I stop playing the clip the CPU still spikes until I mute the track or delete the filter.

I've tried wrapping it in energyXT, but the same thing happens.

The strange thing is that I can play it from my midi keyboard, but can't play it with midi clip.

I'm running XP SP2, 512Mb, 1800XP+.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alan,

please try this beta update:

http://www.dashsignature.com/download/EVE_1.8.05.rar

and replace the DLL in your previous installation,

just search where EVE.dll is,

and let me know if you still have the problem,

I've downloaded the beta (thanks), but I still have a problem.

I don't have a file called EVE.DLL, but I do have one called CM_EVE.DLL. I replaced this with the file I downloaded, but now Tracktion doesn't recognise it as a VST.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help, but it's still no good. CPU goes red.

It's a shame because EVE makes some great sounds.

ok, I checked with an old Tracktion 1.4
and simply I got no sound from a MIDI track, <sigh>

but I can play it thru MIDI keyboard like you do,

please hold on, I will find the bug,

just that Tracktion is a strange host

just tried 1.8.19 in Tracktion 1.4 and it works perfectly, could someone try it in latest version?

CM EVE works here in latest Tracktion.
No EVE update was installed just the version that came with CM mag.

this is beta version not a patch actually,

and I run it in Live 4.1 demo with no problem

it seems to work in latest Tracktion,

but there could be an OS or audio card driver issue,
it would be interesting to know which OS and card
are you and AndrewSimon are using,
