VST's on a MAC?

Been using Tracktion almost 2 years now on a PC. Just acquired a MAC POWERBOOK from work and wanted to use my second license on that...for some reason none of my collected vst's or vsti's seem to work as they all end up in the ignored plug-ins list.
What do I need to do to get my vsts to work on the mac platform? Or will they not work?
Every single one gets put int he ignored list...

unfortunately, you have to hope and pray that they have been ported to the mac... contact the authors and find out if they ever made mac versions.. I'm afraid it's the only way.TheReb wrote:What do I need to do to get my vsts to work on the mac platform? Or will they not work?

soooo....endorphin.dll, a vst on windows would be what exactly on a mac? If of course DigitalFishPhones makes a mac version?
I actually hesitated even moving those dlls over to the mac but then when I saw the "vst" folder in the Lirary\Plugins folder on the MAC I thought, "heck a vst is a vst"
splain this to me as I am sooo confused...

Mac vst's use a .vst extension.TheReb wrote:soooo....endorphin.dll, a vst on windows would be what exactly on a mac? If of course DigitalFishPhones makes a mac version?
As a former Tracktion PC user, I am hurting due to the loss of many VST plugs, including endorphin. The only fishphones plugs available in vst format for mac are the fish fillets (blockfish, spitfish, floorfish).
For more free mac vst plugs, scour smartelectronix, mda and greenoak. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. It turned out that there are two VST plug ins folders on Macs. One in the home directory and one in the root directory. Add an extra search path for root or home VST folder and you should see them.
