so i just discovered tracktion this weekend and i'm very impressed. especially at the price! now i'm wondering a few things. is the copy i downloaded limited? i read somewhere about annoying noise being inserted in tracks as a limitation of the demo version. i have not noticed this at all.
also, i see that tracktion2 will be more than double the price. if this is correct is it better to buy the original version and get an upgrade price?
thank in advance for putting up with a newbie's questions!

The noise won't show up for 30 days or something like that. (it used to be there from day 1, but they've changed it recently)
You will save money on T2 if you purchase T1 now, as the upgrade will be "less than the difference"

Somehow, I don't see Mackie doing a group buy. Not that they couldn't, but how many hosts have done so?
And yes, it's in your advantage to buy T1. Don't wait till the demo starts making noise. T2 could be out by then. Unless, of course, you aren't interested in T2, in which case, you'd also better get it now, because it won't be available when T2 is here.
So, in other words, buy it now no matter what. You'll save money either way.

Is there still no news on T2's release date? It seems to be taking forever. I kept expecting an e-mail to turn up saying 'Tracktion 2 is now available' or words to that effect but I gave up on waiting for that elusive e-mail a lllooonnngggg time ago. Is it me or is it taking a hell of a lot longer than expected? And what's this about it being double the price? Is this official? (Excuse my ignorance but I've not really been following the T2 saga).

mackie site wrote:T2 is the first version of the acclaimed software that will be sold "out of the box" in retail stores and will be available in early March 2005. Retail price for T2 and the over 70 free plug-ins bundled in the box will be $199. In addition, there will be special upgrade pricing for existing T1 users.
