Options-Cursor return to start

I sure wish this could be toggled with a button. It really impacts the way I make loops and cuts. I like it on to find the start position when zoomed in, but I have to turn it off to find the end.

The best way to do it is to have it always available either way. In Vegas "spacebar" stops and returns the cursor to start while "enter" on the keypad stops and leaves the cursor where it is. In Sonar it's spacebar and ctr-spacebar. It's invaluable to have both options always available and I really am hoping they straightened this out in T2.

Why don't you just use a marker at the start of your loop and hit that button to jump there?

I do this often. However, I had an edit earlier in the week where I could not for the life of me enter any marker numbers. They would not show up and did not function.chico.co.uk wrote:Why don't you just use a marker at the start of your loop and hit that button to jump there?
I've also had an issue where I could not get playback to start at 0|0|0, even though that's where the cursor was, and loop mode was turned off.
I would re-wind to 0, hit record, and I'd be 5 or 6 bars into the song.
I think that this issue, the inability to put in markers, and believe it or not, the disappearing Final Mix preset issue which I've had once or twice, has to do with some files that get stored temporarily in RAM.
I have a RAM management program that I use (to help with sfz and large sf - DFD mode doesn't work for me) and when it's active - that's when I have these issues. Or so it seems.

The only issue I've had with markers is that it wont let me make markers with the 10key number pad on the right. I can only make markers with the numbers above the querty keyboard. I got used to it now but I dont know why it does that.rockstar_not wrote:

It wouldn't be very convenient, constantly moving (or setting, but remember theren't many) markers as you work through a piece, just to have both options constantly available. I work both ways all the time and it's much better with a key command for each. I'm hoping this falls under the improved shortcut key assignment in T2.chico.co.uk wrote:Why don't you just use a marker at the start of your loop and hit that button to jump there?
