anyone remember amiga computers? i used to use a sequencer called Dr. T's KCS. anyone remember that? now if only I could find something like that...oh my toes would curl.
the magic of that ap was that you could assign patterns to keys on your keyboard. just push a key and it would kick off a pattern and keep playing until you pushed it again. one could layer patterns this way. drums arpeggios whatever...how sweet it was!
if anyone can point me at an app that does something similar i would be forever grateful!!

EnergyXT and Live spring to mind, both can handle patterns whether they be MIDI or audio, and both allow triggering of patterns in the way you mentioned.
EnergyXTs MIDI and Audio parts allow patterns to be created and assigned to MIDI keys that will trigger them.
Its been a while since i played with XT, but its dirt cheap at 39Euro and frankly is one of the best value pieces of music software on the market, of any kind. Very flexible and worth the money if only as a toy, the possibilities are endless and it gets more powerful by the week.
