For TV in Europe, it needs to be 720x576 D1 pixels [non-square] or 768x576 square pixels, at 25fps and it should be interlaced fields, not frames. For TV it must be uncompressed. For widescreen it is 1024x576 square pixels.fake wrote:What size should they be done in and what is the best codec and frame rate to use?
For TV in NorAm, it needs to be 720x486 NTSC-D1 or 640x480 square at 29.97fps, interlaced.
For the web, who cares. DivX will give you some of the best quality/size ratios and is fairly common these days. Sorenson codec is about the best for Quicktime. MPEG4 is pretty well supported these days and seems to do an OK job.
The audio should be uncompressed as the video compressor will recompress it anyway. If i use mpeg 4 do I compress the audio first to mp3 and then render or do i use a wav?
