Just wondering will launching t2 be faster? Adobe audition opens in seconds, whereas Tracktion 1 opens in like, 20 seconds, even with vst plugin search off.
speaking of which, will it be possible to speed that up too?

I actually owned an atari 800. So yeah we used the tape players. Some times when I'm just doing work I remember that sound they made as it was loading. I remmeber like pretending I was a robot and moving whenever it beeped (i was really young) with my brother. Hahhaaahahah
and i remember going on atari pirate 300 baud bbs's and downloading 300 sector games for HOURS. lol

Vic 20 was my first computer experience too, we had two in the whole school, and only I and 6 other kids could use them because we were M.G.M. students.

Yeah, but the point was made nicely - waiting 20 seconds to have a recording studio on you computer sure beats waiting 20 minutes to have a Basic program loaded in a Vic 20. Remember writing many lines of code just to get a pixel move across the screen? And we were all so impressed.

I remember wanting a Sinclair, we had the Vic 20 at school and I wanted the Sinclair for home so badly. I remember staring at it for days in the Sears catalog.pHz wrote:vic20 with 4k ???

Then I remember staring at Synclavier adds a few years later. Oh, those were the days.

Well, of course, I had it TOUGH... All my imagination used to live inside a ZX80 that couldn't keep the TV display going while doing calculations, so I had blackouts everytime I pressed a key...pHz wrote:vic20 with 4k ???

Yes. 20 seconds is ridiculously, even LUDICROUSLY fast. Who doesn't have a spare 20 seconds in order to have access to a world-class studio???braj wrote:Yeah, but the point was made nicely - waiting 20 seconds to have a recording studio on you computer sure beats waiting 20 minutes to have a Basic program loaded in a Vic 20. I remember writing those lines of code.
You did NOT want to eff that one up. And sometimes even when the checksum worked, the program didn't. After hours of copying. If you could sucker a friend into reading out the numbers for you, it was heaven.

I certainly have those 20 seconds to spare, but when other apps on the same hardware, doing the same task, runs in less than half that, it's not unreasonable to ask for improvements.

FWIW, Tracktion is faster than manmy other sequencers I have tried.
The slowest by far is Live 4 which takes 2 minutes on my laptop. (and yes, Tracktion takes around 20 seconds for me too, so a fair comparisson)
Audition takes around the same time as Tracktion on my system. Not sure how you get a faster result than me there Ron. Did you time it?
Reason 2.5 opens in around 3 seconds. Crumbs!
