T2 & multiple core audio devices

I just read Beno's comment about testing T2 on Tiger, and this question occurred to me: will T2 will support multiple core audio devices? I believe Logic currently doesn't, apparently due to a limitation of Panther, but Tiger may change this (?). Ableton Live and Digital Performer both manage to support multiple audio devices at the moment, somehow or other! Seems odd that Apple's own software doesn't.
To clarify what this means to me: I am recording guitar using a Pod XT via USB, and have USB speakers connected. Currently I have to output Tracktion through the Pod and monitor on headphones (also connected to the Pod) because Pod-in/Speakers-out is not possible. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to play through the speakers and not have to keep changing outputs.

T2 will not support multiple audio devices simultaneously under core audio. But it is a good idea.

hey there:
i love my pod xt..i'm doing the same thing as you though i'm curious why you're using usb speakers? instead i just feed the pod xt outputs to my stereo so i can listen to the mix. it sounds excellent.
just curious...

Hey Sean,
Yeah, the XT is an amazing piece of kit!
The only reason I'm using USB speakers is cos I've had them for years and I can't justify spending the money on new ones. I got the original Harmon Kardon Soundsticks & sub back before I was interested in making music on the computer. I'm no expert, but I think they make really good monitors because they have very pure sound quality and aren't overly bass heavy. I'd like to do what you do and run speakers from the Pod, but if I was going to replace the USB soundsticks it would probably be with the newer minijack version, and it's just not worth it. I don't have a stereo system either - all my music is played through the computer.
Incidentally, if any PC users are reading this I'm curious as to whether you are able to select multiple devices. Is it just macs that are limited to one at a time?

PCs cannot do it either. In fact, ASIO doesn't support it all so they are in fact further away than the Mac which does support multiple core audio devices being used at once. But I don't see that being added to Tracktion in the near future so I would definitely look for another solution.

Hey Beno, one possible solution would be to add support for WDM drivers aswell. My Mixterme has low latency WDM and ASIO drivers so I can use it with multiple apps at the same time.
