Help with multiple tracks thru 1 filter

I'd like to run three tracks through one reverb, delay, and compressor, as opposed to running the trio of filters on each of the three tracks. I know it's possible, as I've seen that idea as solutions to other problems (i.e. cpu/HD overload). I've apparently missed something along the way, as I can't get it to work correctly.

on a basic level its simple ...

- set your 3 filters (or whatever you want to run multiple tracks through) on an empty track ... rename this track to something easily identifiable (eg - effects chain 1)

- select each track in turn that you want to send through this chain ... in the track properties that appear in the info pane at the bottom there youll see a list headed up DESTINATION OUTPUT FOR THIS TRACK ... just select from this list the track you placed your effects chain on

... job done ...

... of course ... if you want to use a send / return setup (where your effects are applied to each track with different wet / dry levels) then stuff gets a bit more complex

I feel perfectly stupid now. I mean, talk about obvious.
But thanks for the tip! I'm going to go extract my head from my arse now...
