how about a broken cable?

not everything NEEDS to be virtual. give yourself a glimpse of hardware effects and environmental variables.

Also, not strictly speaking a lo-fi effect, but Sicklecell's Grudge ensemble for Reaktor has been doing most lo-fi tasking these days.

Izotope's Vinyl is also rather nice for dirtying up audio.

Any equalizer could do the job for me (except bit-crushing):D I also like Vinyl and e-phonic LoFi.

I like both Cynamide and Lofi, but my favorite has to be Sonic Destructor in the TC Native bundle. If you like nasty lofi, fuzz and distortion effects then this thing is choice.

Add to that using a microphone to record audio from average speakers at a distance.
