Hey

In T1 is the only way to edit an audio file from the
"projects" menu? or is there a way to do it from the edit screen?

You can do it from the edit screen 2 different ways:

1. by right-clicking the selected audio clip and choosing the appropriate menu option.

2. by selecting the desired audio clip and then "view source info" and then you'll see the same options as in the project page.

#1 is obviously easier.

Have you ever tried clicking on an audio file in the edit window? Also tried the right-click??

Post

ummm all i have here is

cut
paste
copy marked section
paste (inserting at cursor position)
delete
delete (plus source files)
bring obscured clips to front
show clipboard contents

Thats all that shows, im not that ignorant.

Maybe the following makes a difference:
* weather the clip was selected before (I think you have to select it first with a left-click)
* where you do the click (on the "title" top or in the middle)

Post

nope. its not doing it. Do i have to define the external editor?

Now I wonder ... :?

Anyway, you're sorted now I think.

not really. it appears every time i load audition.exe it minimizes tracktion. Interesting. Also i remember you guys mentioning that it has an auto update, say I want to cut out a wav, will it update? or the clip? Do i have to save the wav file?

Thanks

Ron there is a third way, now that you've set up Audition as your external editor (wise move by the way  8) )

Simply... select the audio clip (by left mouse click) and then press [Ctr]+W.

This takes you straight into Audition and I find it even quicker than Lunch Moneys other two alternatives.

Have fun!

There's a way to set it so that Tracktion doesn't minimize, but I'm not at my home computer right now to tell you what it is.

In a project click any audio file, go to the properties panel at the bottom hit view source info, now hit edit audio file then un-check "minimize tracktion when external editor is launched
