Hi,

I remember I've seen someone introduce a small VSTi host in this forum before but I can't find it back.

Could anyone tell me is there any good (free) vsti host? I just want to load a vsti and try how it sounds.

If you just want to play a single VSTi, and don't really care about sequencing, something like Chainer (which doesn't load or save in demo, but otherwise is fully functional) should suffice. Another option would be Tobybear's MiniHost, a donationware VSTi host. energyXT is also great for testing VST's; it doesn't load saved files, but its demo is also otherwise unlimited.

Synthedit will host VSTs as well as create them, and you lose no serious functionality with the free version.

I does a lot more as well though..

Give SAVIhost or VSThost a try....

they are both free and you can find them here...

There's also Minihost. It's currently one of the most recent updates on the front page I believe. If not, you can find it in the upper right menus.

I never knew , how cool is that
if the vst was built in synthedit will it show you how it was put together...

No, you would need the source .se1 file for that. Lots of people share theirs though..

You can also embed VSTs in your own creations I think, but I've not explored that much..
