All ive found in the manual is that each CLIP can correspond to a different channel and that seems to work, but at least for me tha isn´t particularly useful. How could I for example record the drums "live" on track 1, then record the bass "live" on another track.. and so on? Obviosuly i could set up a separate instance of Kontakt for each track but that wouldnt be particularly practical.

I´ve been messing about with the Tracktion demo and so far all seems ok but i´m having a problem with Kontakt. Say i have 1 instance of Kontakt open and within that there are 3 instruments, a synth, bass and drums and each is set up to recieve on a different MIDI channel: 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Is there any way to make each track in Tracktion correspond to a separate MIDI channel as can be done in Cubase or Sonar?

If i understand correctly: you could just create separate tracks and route them to the track kontakt is on, and then select the channel you want on the separate clips...
At least, i would do it that way, don't know if there's anything better?

You must use a rack. You have to insert Kontakt inside this rack and drag and drop the rack in every track you want to use. Then, you can add some outputs in the rack to manage the mix of every instrument

Or wrap Kontact in a Rack and place the rack on each track. This would allow you to use the multiple outputs from Kontakt.
Also, for your midi input, you can use the channel slider to decide which midi channel the input will pass to Kontakt and thus what channel the midi clips will be set to when recorded.
Hope this helps.
