Hello,

Is there any way to change the order of the instruments in the ST2 browser? In ST1 the intruments were sorted by name but in ST2 they are sorted by creation order. Thanks,

Diego

Put it onto your internal drive and it should sort by name. External drives for some reason have an issue with that. This might change in a future update though if possible.

Squids,

Thanks for your quick and kind reply. The intruments are already on an internal drive. But it's like ST1 browser did a "dir /on" and ST2 just a "dir". I'm running Win XP SP2 and the file system is FAT32. Thanks,

Diego

Hmm. Yeah, I am not sure. It should be alphabetical. Try contacting IK support.

FWIW: I believe a few of us finally figured out that this problem is a FAT32 problem. Convert the drive to NTFS (it is surprisingly quick to do) and the sounds will appear in sequence.

I don't recall the thread where we concluded this, but I do know that it worked for a handful of people.

Try it!
Hope this helps,
Randy

Randy,

Thanks for your help, but since ST 1 did it well on FAT32, i assume it's a ST 2 problem that should be solved. Regards,

Diego

Yes, I don't disagree that I'd like to see it solved. I'm just saying there is a verified way to make it go away. Elminate FAT32 from the equation. It worked for me perfectly and only took about 10 seconds to convert a 30 Gb drive loaded halffull with sounds.

A while back, I notified IK about the situation and have not heard from them. My guess is it will not be addressed as urgent since it is assumed most of the world has moved on up to NTFS.

If you want to see it fixed quickly, and there is no good reason to be hanging on to FAT32, I highly recommend converting. I had feared it for a long time, but finally bit the bullet and couldn't believe how painless it was for me.

Either way, best of luck to you!
Randy
