I dont think they can even be compared: apples and oranges.

If it sounds good quiet, then it will generally sound better loud."

this is true actually!
You should mix at the level that the music is going to be played.

It's nearly impossible to mix a dance record at low volume.

Even for non-dance stuff, higher volume really brings out mud in a mix that's really hard to notice at low levels.

Yea, tracks mixed at low volume tend to be awkward and bass heavy. Mixing should be done at all levels, but primarily the level at which it will generally be listened to.

I've always thought that apples and oranges are perfect for comparing? They are of a similar size, both fruit, and both considered good for your health. What more things do they need in common? Taste and colour?

What makes Dogs on Acid such a controversial forum? I hadn't even heard of it until this thread.
Is it so full of geeky know-it-alls/wanna be pros?

Some of the quotes put a smile on my face but most of it sounded like rock solid advice!

Marco :)

Yes there are many wanna be people, but also many big names in drum & bass are active on doa.

I sometimes check the grid for tips and such, but signatures/avatars like Dylan's kinda scared me away heh.

It's not apart from in your face warez users.

Its the other way round really, KvR is full of people who think thye know best/geeky types. DOA is just a place for people to learn/ask/swap tips on production, none of these flame wars you get here.

I hope somebody brings up Tarnce VST 2.0 Professional and it becomes really popular. I'd love that.
