Amazing! I don't know what to say! I followed this story (on amazona) from the beginning (since the very first discussion) and I never thought that there would be any results.Urs wrote:Actually, a little tasty for Diva might happen earlier than I thought:

I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Cheers

Well, it's pretty much all about the price. If they manage to get it built, then it's gonna be almost an Andromeda A6, for half the price of a used one.jupiter8 wrote:Hmm so when thousands of synthesizer geeks had the opportunity to dream up their porniest dream synth ever, all they came up with is basically a Jupiter 8 or Prophet 5 ? That's not very imaginative either.

If you ask thousands of people, of course the result will be the lowest common denominator, something they'd all be willing to buy because it meets most of everyone's basic demands. You're probably missing the point behind all this, it was never about creating the craziest thing out there.

You're missing some points though. The failure of the A6 was its price and maybe also its lack of imagination. The Tyrell has some really clever ideas that I havn't seen implemented in a polyphonic synth before.

Simplicity can often lead to more productivity.
A little synth like this could prove to be a real work-horse in a digital studio.
Ability to load tuning files would be interesting too.

So TYRELL will sound like a Junohttp://createdigitalmusic.com/ wrote:Urs Heckman is working on a Synth-project called DIVA. One part of the project is developing a module which is based on the ROLAND Juno 60. Exactly this synth was also the base for the AMAZONA.de Reader-Survey. Now, Urs will bring both ideas together and will create TYRELL - N6 as the first TYRELL Clone
Are you going to do the chorus?

Not quite. The Tyrell is supposed to have a multimode filter whreas the Juno as a straight 24 dB ladder filter.todd_r wrote:So TYRELL will sound like a Juno
Well, the Tyrell doesn't have a chorus section... (unless Moogulator has hidden it very well)Are you going to do the chorus?
I have all degrees of freedom though. As I'm leaving the sequencer out, I might add a chorus and a delay.

you will let the sequencer out actualy? Why? I really like that feature in vanguard or even better in Filterbank 3 for example.
Way more important then a chorus or a delay imo..

Mark, the sequencer concept in Tyrell is *way* more complex than your examples. The implementation is supposed to be similar to Korg Electribes where *every* parameter can be automated.
I have developed a concept that outshines even that by far, but it'll appear in DIVA, if at all.
