Are there still people using Tracktion?

Still using it. I did try Cubase 6 (posted down a few) a few months back and just couldnt get past the GUI. I have bought Pro Tools 10 and really like it so far. Im slowly learning my way through it. But for critical tracking I load up T3. Last month I built an intel i7 2600k pc with Win 7. Pro Tools needs Win 7. I installed Tracktion back on and it fired right up. Rock solid (both DAW's). So for the future I will be a two DAW man. That is until I become a PT10 guru.

Still using T3 on an Imac running XP Home.
Solid as a rock.
I bought Logic 9, loaded it.
Loved the amp sims. Put Logic away then flogged it. Too difficult. Im a musician not an engineer.
Just bought PT9, not had the guts to break the seal yet. At least learning that might provide some compatibility with pro recorded stuff to tweak at home, but without ££££s worth of Waves plug ins how much use would that be?
I'm an audio guy with a bit of midi triggering/soft synth stuff.
I run Addictive Drums and the IK stuff on it and it really is all i need to do cracking demos for my band to get the gist of songs.
Sometimes stuff ive done in T comes on in the car on random play and im stunned at the quality compared to pro studios of 15 years back.
I use a Yamaha N12 as a front end. And am thinking of getting a TC Powercore to really bump up my options. My core 2 imac from 2006 slices through all i need.In fact my whole rig would only cost about a grand on ebay now and it knocks me out every time i do stuff. We are so lucky to be living in these times, from a home recording point of view anyway...
I wouldnt use anything else. Quick and easy.
I can walk away from my rig for 3 months, and when the muse takes, have a useable, varied, interesting, drum track down in about half an hour.
I still recommend this whenever im asked, (cue glazed pitiful looks) though getting hold of it looks quite hard now.
I got my T3 Ultimate from Ebay US for about £50 delivered to the UK.
A stunning bargain at the time.
I LOVE Tracktion.

You can always buy the download T2 from the Mackie site (make a support account and you'll see the offer) and then upgrade that to the T3 download. You don't get all the loops and stuff, but you do get Tracktion and the included Mackie plugs including Final Mix. Works out to about $100, which isn't exactly a bargain for unsupported software, but it's there if anyone wants it!

I Love Tracktion too. But I need more editing capabilities from time to time. Especially "Beat Detective" and "Elastic Audio" that Pro Tools offers. Those will be time savers when editing these "Speed Metal" drummers and their 2 million BPM kicks. And I find Pro Tools GUI pretty easy. Not as easy as Tracktion, but better than the other DAW's I've tried. But I will continue to use Tracktion also. So crack open that PT 9 you have and play with it. It will seem strange for a while but you will get the hang of it.shindigger wrote:Still using T3 on an Imac running XP Home.

I use it all of the time with all of my Mackie gear and it makes me money getting recordings like this. It was never broke so I never had to fix.
Mackie onyx 1640, 1620 and a sattelite.Hr 624 mk2 monitors for mixing. Mackie thumps when I need a small P.A.. and no more secrets to be given for the larger stuff

Excellent performance and a superb recording. WELL DONE!
I bought a Mac recently and have been using Logic and also rediscovering Live, but Tracktion will always be a favorite! For no-fuss live recording, I can't think of anything sweeter.

Been using Tracktion for 7 years. I got a new copy of T3 a few months ago even though I knew that it was a dead end at Mackie. I've tried Studio One and Cubase but I keep coming back to T3. It's a !@#$ing shame that this software is disappearing.

Yes I still use Tracktion from v1 - v2 and now v3 in windows 7
its good, easy and quick to get a song out of your mind and into the daw
I also use reaper and Sonar v8, Call me old fashion but all the new daw software have updates every few months then a new version but still get more complated to use and still only do the same job that Tracktion will do,

I use it and love it. Used to break the bank to go to the studio and with Tracktion3 I get better results than some of the stuff I've paid studios to do. I do have to upgrade my computer... I'm hoping I can get my T3 to load up.
One area I still struggle with... rendering with track breaks. I master my cds, then render 'em one song at a time (muting the others songs on separate tracks), then load them as WAV files to realplayer and burn 'em as a playlist--It gives me the track breaks, but I have no control over how much time is between songs... any solutions?

Use Infrarecorder.
Don't know why you'd want to use WMP or Real, both're shit.

while it has features I like the original question by Jehoagn still has not been addressed. Setting time between songs. Music match used to do it but of course thats long over with and was a drag

CDBurnerXP is free, works well, and will allow you burn CDs with or without gaps between tracks.jehogan wrote:I

You can of course set pregap length with infrarecorder, otherwise I wouldn't've mentioned it...lou zer wrote:while it has features I like the original question by Jehoagn still has not been addressed. TAO with zero pregap in the burn dialogue is what you want.

For the hell of it (and I dont claim to be a brain surgeon).
I just gave Infrarecorder 15 minutes of time and cant even burn a cd with it not to mention dialing in disc song space area. It keeps spitting out a blank cd saying it is complete. Absolute garbage and uninstalled! Media player is easier and better and like you said it is a POS!
