So why still riding a dead horse? Well, actually Tracktion is not even a dead horse, it becomes a rotten horse. Hm, it smells a bit like a zombie party here ...
Are there still people using Tracktion?

That really makes me smiling sometimes. I started my first attempts in recording using T2 some time ago and I really liked its unconventional approach. But hey, Tracktion is dead as a dodo, no official Mackie representative is answering any questions here anymore. No further updates, nothing. Tracktion is now what it intentionally ever should be: a cheap give-away for Mackie mixing consoles.

Ever heard of necrophiliacs?
As long as you can plug something in and get something out of it, it's yours.
And its unconventional way is just pure beautiful excellent-workflow-simplicity, it was made by a man some people might called musician a loong time ago - not by dick-headed ingeneering folks who try to recreate the hardware-world within the realms of software neglecting all its advantages... blablabla
Me writing this is as useless as your post, that's why I'm writing it.
Get onto yer corpse right now, boy!

Hell yes, been using it since T1. Still find it the quickest way to get ideas down.
And I also have licenses for Reaper and energyXT.

I'll ride my car till it brakes, I'll use my cameras till they are worn out and the lenses blind, I'll use tracktion (from time to time) till I won't be able to reinstall it. It works well like my old car, like my old cameras, like my old ( ;) ) body.
So what?
So what?

Ach.
Even if it's unsupported, it's still got the best UI of any host existing, which is surprising given how easy it would be to make something as good.
The technical issues are a pain in the ass, but even with that it's still nine billion times better than anything I used throughout the nineties and early 2000's.
You forget, not everybody is a douchebag on a upgrade-cycle treadmill. Like the Vista and Win7 early-adoptors, who defended their nebulous decisions to pay for, essentially, a beta edition, with even more nebulous definitions of 'better'ness. Some of us have lives, and work to do. And tracktion is good enough to help us do it - even with the bugs...

Does anybody know if the bundled software sold with Traction Ultimate Bundle be used outside of traction?
For example, I use Cubase so can I use the bundled software:
IK Multimedia SampleTank 2 SE w/ 100 sound sets
IK Multimedia Amplitube LE w/ upgrade to Duo
Submersible Music DrumCore TK w/ 2GB drum sample library
Garritan Personal Orchestra Tracktion 3 Edition w/ full 820MB sound library
with Cubase?
Thanks for you help.

I believe GPO will work with other DAWS. DrumCore TK is rewire so... I would guess yes (if Cubase supports rewire).
The IK stuff won't I don't think. You need to upgrade them for unrestricted use. Same with the LinPlug plug-ins.
You might try importing or copying the sounds from SampleTank 2 SE into the new version of SampleTank Free. Probably won't work but worth a shot.

I still have a copy installed on my machine. I mainly use it to export projects a partner sends me. I then import the stems into Reaper. She's not much of a gear head so the Tracktion archive export is really nice. I wish Reaper had something so simply elegant. It would make sharing projects much easier.

Never used anything else. Got T2 with my first interfase (Skipe) 5 years ago.
So.... really I don't know if it is better... I'm just more productive that friend that use other stuff. I'm any way an "aficionado" so.. but I undestand people that music is more serios for them and can't stay on board any longer.
