Geist 2 ,not sure why FXpansion has stopped updating it as frequent though, such a great bit of kit. Just needs some love. Looks like they just destroyed the old forum, with all of our requests,if this is true, then that's pretty f-cd up.

I don’t know any specifics about this but if they think it’s feature complete for now, where is the point in updating just for the sake of updating? You can bet that they are aware on which aspects Geist could get a bit of enhancement but there is nothing wrong with a (fair) charge for the next version.trusampler wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 12:04 pm Geist 2 ,not sure why FXpansion has stopped updating it as frequent though, such a great bit of kit. From the looks of it, it seems pretty cool tbh! I’m glad that I am pretty much set on drum instruments (Maschine , battery), so money saved I guess.
Cheers

I consider Geist the overall best VST drum machine available. I would also say it is feature complete in the big sense. It could use some polish and to improve already existing features and improved workflow in few areas.hlecram wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 1:09 pmI don’t know any specifics about this but if they think it’s feature complete for now, where is the point in updating just for the sake of updating? I would call it semi abandon-ware at this point. FXpansion being bought by Roli was likely the end of Geist. It is still supported, but not developed and I would say it is only a matter of time before it is declared dead.

Battery and Studio One's Impakt.
But Punch 2 sound's amazing in all genres.
Still reach for a classic for instant mojo: Motu BPM. Still love this crazy drum machine but basically, like all Motu instruments, thoroughly abandoned.

In Session Audio makes some great stuff - Drumatic Creator and Taiko Creator strike a great balance of sound, usability, and flexibility. Shimmer Shake Strike is a gem as well.
