"Other" is the future.
Oh, and right now I'm using Ableton and Cubase since they are least working stable.
In what way exactly? I've tried the Bitwig trial for some time and quite liked it, but stuck with Live as I'm happy with it so I haven't kept up with ver. 6, but you mentioning Audiomulch sparked an interest.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:53 pm Oh and Bitwig 6 when it is fully ready promises the ability to use automation as a composition tool in itself (which reminds me of Audiomulch), alongside and integrated with audio and MIDI.
Here in Kvristan 'geek' is the lingua franca.
In the MuTools forum anyone can see the one-man-army responding every single day to feature requests from those who do professional work, yet MuLab is still not bloated.VOODOO U wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:14 pmAnd Bitwig is Mulab's big brother? Unfortunately the latter is a one man army who implements features that are according to one man's vision (90% guarantee for failure) that are no use to those who do professional work. Such a shame because the potential is there.
It's not the same - Bitwig also has MIDI and audio as composition elements. In Audiomulch automation was the primary means of composing along the timeline, Bitwig 6 seems to be elevating automation from being simply a way to record knob movements to playing a more critical compositional role.Opaque wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 4:05 amIn what way exactly? Is it a specific bitwig feature that is being introduced, that I can search for, or some kind of video where they're showing whatever it is you're talking about.
Time to go back to REAPER, man...BBFG# wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 2:25 am Changed my vote from Bitwig to Other since Bitwig went into a tail spin of crashes and nag screen demands. Even the sandbox fails and often takes the audio engine and controllers with it. So I've used seven of the above options and even if Bitwig worked as well as it used to I would still be open to try anything offering something better.

Reaper is one of the seven. There are things I like about it as well as things I find annoying enough to not use it. But I still watch its development.twal wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 12:27 pmTime to go back to REAPER, man...BBFG# wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 2:25 am Changed my vote from Bitwig to Other since Bitwig went into a tail spin of crashes and nag screen demands. That doesn't answer my question.
Well it's good that it's not bloated but it still doesn't make certain implementations of features useful for my own needs. In the MuTools forum anyone can see the one-man-army responding every single day to feature requests from those who do professional work, yet MuLab is still not bloated.
You don't find it better in Ableton with the session view? You could elongate the faders to give them more of a traditional mixer readout.legendCNCD wrote:When entering Ableton, I thought I'd miss the mixer view with plugins
Yes it does. Lingua franca means every interaction-- including buying decisions-- is based on geekiness, which Oxford defines as "the quality of being knowledgeable about and obsessively interested in a particular subject, especially one that is technical or of specialist or niche interest."
Well, its a fool's errand to guess the certain implementations of features that anyone needs. Everyone is so very different!VOODOO U wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 6:13 pmWell it's good that it's not bloated but it still doesn't make certain implementations of features useful for my own needs.Michael L wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 4:44 am In the MuTools forum anyone can see the one-man-army responding every single day to feature requests from those who do professional work, yet MuLab is still not bloated.
Well, no such thing as "any professional" as we are so different, but I will give a use case for some professional.VOODOO U wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 6:13 pm And why would any professional choose to work with Mulab versus say, Bitwig or Ableton/M4L?
There are now two ways to demo, MuLab Demo and MuLab Free:VOODOO U wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 6:13 pm I've demo'd it several times through the years and it never stood out worth buying. Then again the demo restriction is ridiculous
What's annoying about it that made you stop using it if you don't mind me asking.BBFG# wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 4:46 pmReaper is one of the seven.
