The long DIVA thread

When the output is too loud it clips horribly, for instance on the default patch playing more than 3 notes at once causes it. I can turn the master volume down to reduce the noise and then I get get away with 5+ notes.
I did put a limiter on the bus, so its not my signal chain, its a problem internal to the synth.
Other than that I really dig it, some great sounds. Those filters are just beautiful, and the different oscillator types are awesome.

Eeeek. We forgot. It was on our todo list but somehow slipped throughIngonator wrote:Diva got no 12dB filter like the real thing. It looks it got only the 24dB filter.
Expect the 24/12 dB switch from the transistor ladder to make its way into the OTA ladder.

Thanks, that would be cool.Urs wrote:Eeeek. We forgot. It was on our todo list but somehow slipped throughIngonator wrote:Diva got no 12dB filter like the real thing. It looks it got only the 24dB filter.![]()

Diva is really brilliant!!
BTW here are demos and patch sheets of the Jupiter 8 factory sounds:
http://www.synthmania.com/jupiter-8.htm
Those who want to reprogram those should maybe wait until i published my Jupiter 8 Diva presets which should be quite soon...
I'll try to do as mayn of those Jupiter 8 sounds as possible but i'll start with the Synth Brass and Strings patches.
I also got the Arturia 8V demo again as i sold the full version a few month ago. I still had some screenshots from the time i had the full version.
More jupiter 8 audio demos here:

Our 14-bit Jupiter doesn't get there either... we'll revisit it though, it's always possible that a variable has been changed incorrectly when we set things in stone.Mogular wrote:Comparing Diva with the sounds at http://www.gearslutz.com/board/electron ... jp8v2.html I have had a lot of trouble getting the resonance that CoolColJ gets out of his Jupiter.

That's a relief to know that the behaviour of Divas 'Jupiter 8' filter matches the real one you have. I know later in that thread he had just had his Jupiter recapped etc.Urs wrote: Our 14-bit Jupiter doesn't get there either... we'll revisit it though, it's always possible that a variable has been changed incorrectly when we set things in stone.
Also, Ingonator mentioned Unison mode - I imagine this would make a big difference to the intensity of the resonance

check this out for the recapped sounds http://soundcloud.com/coolcolj/roland-j ... 8-recapped
it actually sounds like there is some sort of drive running on these sounds

These are cool, but still. Our Jupiter 8 sounds considerably cleaner than our Juno 60, even though the actual filter circuit is very similar - we chose to implement the rough/clean modes exactly because of that difference in sound, otherwise we would have dropped "clean" alltogether. I agree that "clean" could do with a tad more resonance though.Mogular wrote:check this out for the recapped sounds http://soundcloud.com/coolcolj/roland-j ... 8-recapped

I'll recheck my Diva Jupiter presets with some audio demos soon. Maybe i'll change the filter to the "rough" mode.Urs wrote:These are cool, but still. UPDATE:
On presets with no resonance the "rough" filter sounds almost identical. Only with high resonance there is a bigger difference.

Today we downloaded DIVA and no one is lying about what this chameleon synthesizer is capable of. This is a real gem in "VSTi-land". 1up for Urs!

btw: This is the raw sound of DIVA, no other vsti's, onboard-eq, or vst's are used only a limiter on the masterbus

I would not recommend using a beta for production though. As in: Any glitches are not our fault

I also had all 6 Diva's on Devine quality. I do have a new MBP, but this wasn't really pegging my CPU much.
