If you are referring to the DX7 V Presets from Arturia and third-parties (not the converted Sys-X) they are not and will never be compatible, because DX7 V has a lot of features that DeXed doesn't.

this might be the wrong place to ask about this....but i have a yamaha dx200, how would i go about copying the sounds from that to the arturia dx7 v? i *mostly* work in the box now, id like to get those as somewhat easier to use sounds.

You'll need to save them first in SYX format. I'm not sure if DX7 V can convert those directly, but it's worth trying.

Thank you for replying. I see 2 different banks (one with all 9,500 patches, and separately I have the "DX7" folder of patches, from the same set) in the Finder, exactly where you say they should be. I even tried copying and pasting hundreds of "'DX7' folder of patches' into the User folder (not one at a time, all at once). Still, none of those patches are visible in DX7 V. I have Mac OSX 10.11.6 in my iMac, the newest that I can use with my 9 year old iMac. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
OK, here is a step by step guide. Try to follow it STEP BY STEP

1. Unzip the ZIP file. You should have now a folder named User, with several folders inside it;
2. Copy the entire User folder (do not mess with the contents) to Macintosh HD/Library/Arturia/Presets/DX7 V (you don’t need to create a new folder User because you are already copying a folder called User)
3. Delete the file called db.db3 that’s in the root of Macintosh HD/Library/Arturia/Presets
4. Launch DX7 V stand-alone.
5. Wait for a few minutes while the presets database is rebuilt.
6. Click in the library icon (it's the icon at the right o the Arturia logo). Hopefully, you will see ALL the banks listed after the Factory Bank.
I've read this post thoroughly but I still need a little guidance regarding getting these presets to show up in the browser. Hoping you guys can help.

I'm on MAC (Mojave)
I recon Mojave has something to do with this.

Thing is, There is no "Arturia" folder if you go to LIBRARY through the GO menu
The route to find an 'Aturia' folder in Library is to go Go/MacintoshHD/Library/Arturia
BUT there's no PRESETS folder in there. There is a DX7 V folder in there but again nothing called PRESETS.
There is a USER folder in there which goes User/Playlist and has a single xml file.
I tried replacing the folder with the download from here AND dumping the contents of the User folder in the
original USER folder but no dice. Restarting my Mac and 'Clear all' in the browser doesn't help either

no db.db3 file could be found because, as outlined above, there's no PRESETS folder in the locations suggested on here

I've also tried another way that was suggested here. Import preset. From the Arturia logo drop down,
but it won't let me open anything. The files are greyed out and won't open the folder. For fun I tried changing the extension on a single file to .dx7x and it imported 'successfully' but couldn't be found.

I created an 'Export bank' and then imported that and that shows up. But not sure how that relates to adding the User folder in question. It creates a .dx7x file but how do I work with this? Not sure of the steps here.

I've also created my own preset just so the plug in is aware of a User folder

I’ve even tried dropping some of files into ThirdParty/Native Instruments
And just Third Party folder
HELP!!!
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Post

it is NOT inside the "DX7 V" folder
/Library/Arturia/DX7 V/

but

it is the folder "Presets" withIN the Arturia folder
/Library/Arturia/Presets/DX7 V/

Thanks a ton PietW!!

For anyone not having luck with seeing the patches, refer to fmr's advice here to delete the file "db.db3"
