To be clear, polyphonic modulations are very common in many synths. Generally synths propose both polyphonic or mono MSEGs, LFOs or ADSRs. With every DAW, you can also send monophonic modulations to your synths. What you can't do is to send polyphonic modulations.
With CLAP you can.
Imagine that you started a complex melody with a saw on surge XT. This melody is based on chords, lfos, mseg and all polyphonic. Finally you think f....k, I should have used Diva, I prefere their saw sound (just an example). That's not a problem, you just change the symth, you keep all your modulations as they are in the DAW and not in the synth anymore....
