What's the worst that an happen, switching back to 2.3.1? I'm getting too many crashes when closing the UI in Live 8 and Live 8 hangs until a reboot (I'm sure 2nd bit is an Ableton issue though).

Hi,
I've been busy as always, but this time it's some good news for Zebranauts:
I transferred the Bazille filter into Zebra's XMF. It is a tad more expensive than the original XMF, but not as much as I'd have expected (in the end, the XMF does audio rate modulation while Bazille does audio rate times oversample modulation). But as the XMF has only one output type to choose from, I've completed the list to match the Matrix 12 / XPander modes:

That's quite an arsenal
The LP Vintage 2 will also get the same sound as the XMF/Bazille, but as it doesnt need audio rate modulation I think I can make it quite efficient.

Wow that's great news! This will make the newest Zebra update all the more worthwhile, thanks a lot! Can't wait to try it out.

Holy Shit Urs!
I can't believe someone traded me a zebra license. Who could ever not want this beast? It gets even better running uhbiks and filterscapes with it
In fact, one of my new fav combos is filterscape VA -> Zebrify.

I need another couple of days... (means: I don't know)djanthonyw wrote:Urs, when will the new beta with Bazille's filters be available to try?
Back in April when I did the redesign of the gui (as can be seen in the current Google ads) I had a small but painfull data loss. A bug crashed Zebra's gui editor while saving the gui config file... arrrgh... poof, gone... never did that before... I've started to rework all these layouts from screenshots that I had. It's tedious work though. And I don't think I want to work with the original layout any longer... I also need to painfully redo a lot of graphics in Photoshop to make them look more consistent.
We'll see... maybe I could do a build with the previous graphics...

The sound, the parameter ranges, the scaling of parameters and the flexibility.rectus_dominus wrote:I'm not really following this thread, so dont kick me, can I ask what's so great about Bazille's filters?
Check out the "startled filter" as seen here:
Cheers,

So, that Is the startled filter? I laughed when I first saw that buzzing
And yes, it sounds unique to me

It's not really unique. It's a simple trick where the filter just so goes into self-oscillation and "fights for independance" from the incoming frequencies. Add an envelope and a LFO... there you go. Works with pretty much any analogue modelled filter.rectus_dominus wrote:So, that Is the startled filter? I laughed when I first saw that buzzing
