question about zero latency monitoring

Could someone explain how to achieve zero latency monitering with emu1212 also this thread has been very helpful as I am having some of the same issues Thanks again Dave

its all in patchmixDSP if you add a strip that is the input, then the volume on that input would give you zero latency monitering, then just add a asio send to one of the inserts on that track & record via that asio input,

Hi guys, sorry for bumping this thread with another latency issue.
i'm typing this at work..I know, quite bad of me....so I don't have access to Tracktion, and just wanted to make a quick query if I may. Im having recording latency issues with Tracktion 2, using a Hercules 18/12fw and a G4 emac with 1GB of ram. I know what zero latency monitoring is and what you need to achieve it (ahem..2 bus mixer) and i use direct monitoring when tracking, so have no issues there. However, the recorded tracks are very very slightly out of sync when I listen back - I did auto detect and got a value of 39.97ms, but I find even with this i still have to drag the wave forms slighly back to meet the click. Its not human error when playing cos i tested by just picking a note on guitar in time with the click for four bars and each note on the wave was exactly the same amount out when zoomed in as far as possible. (When zoomed out it looks in time, although i can still hear that its slightly out of sync)
PHEW! So here's my quick question
Am I asking too much for the wave to be exactly where i've played 'em or should there still be a small delay after doing autodetect, or have I maybe did something wrong? I have no other programs running and there are no plug ins (i was recordign a scratch track last night so there was nothing but a click and a guitar track) I can live with dragging the waves back (even though i don't think i should have to) but I was using Cubase LE until I got tracktion and never had any issues like this.

And i should state that despite the tone of my post i frickin love tracktion. It reminds me of garageband...but y'know...good.

ok!
no you should not have to do this!!!!
again send output 1 to your mixer (or patch it straight to the input 1, now do the test again.
copy the new number to all inputs comming in to T2
this should work fine!!!
