For some of the sounds (i.e. those that use keyboard position to step through the selected wavetable's waveforms where each note has a slightly (or radically) different tone, that would be true but for others, actually the converse is true - sampling just a single waveform and playing that across the entire keyboard range would be truer to the original - rely on your sampler's interpolation to handle the transposition (and frankly, the worse the sampler's interpolation, the more accurate the result will betee boy wrote:Steven,
Hi! I am a big PPG fan, so I can relate. I have the VST version, as I cant afford a real one. I was under the impression that the waveforms were sampled, rather than synthesized, hence my question about number of samples per oct. So I guess the best way to sample this synth would be a full 'white key' job.
To sample the wavetable sweeps, a full length sample every minor third will do just fine.
